Woah!!! i never thought a phone could make the evo look like a baby!!!
I know right? I am so happy that I sold the Incredible on Ebay a while back. I only bought it for 130 and sold it for 600, I love ebayers. I hated selling my Incredible, was planning on buying another eventually but with the Droid X coming out, there is no chance I will buy the Incredible again.
I love how big it is, I loved the Evo and would have bought it if it wasn't for me loving Verizon. The only thing I will miss is Sense, but personally I still like stock the best, but love the widgets from Sense. Good thing I have beautiful widgets, and at least Moto blur/ ninja blur looks a lot better than it did back in the day.
I am exciting for a official annoucement, thanks for keeping us updated!!!
I wonder why they switched from the 4.1 to the 4.3 screen. I'm assuming this is the recent "hardware change" that we heard about. I wish it were slightly smaller...that 4" screen might be a nice sweet spot...maybe the same width but slightly shorter. Will need need to hold the X to see if it's too big. That screen is pretty stunning though.
After having it for a couple days, does the size bother you? Or have you gotten used to it?

Yeah, i was contemplating getting the incredible because i prefer sense, but this looks amazing, i hope that at some point, th ui's can be on the market and you can download which one u want to use, allthough it will take a while...but the x looks amazing!! Thanks
something I noticed. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the lighting from mad's pics, but the four buttons on the bottom appear to be touch sensitive on mad's and the look like physical buttons in all the other leaked pictures. Like I said it may just be the lighting. Care to clarify mad?
Nice pics, cool to see what it looks like next to an EVO just held a demo model of one today, seeing as this will be slightly longer and thinner I can't wait to get it in my hands.

I'd say it was just the lighting but I think you may have something there. Notice the reflection/glare that goes from the bottom of the phone to the bottom of the Search button. You should see the bevel of the physical button there but you don't.
Pretty sure they're physical buttons, in the picture next to the Eris they look like actual buttons to me I just think it's the lighting in the other picture that doesn't show the buttons well.
Whoa that thing is big. Sexy but big. After playing with the EVO for a bit and realizing it just wasn't that comfortable to handle one-handed I think the X will be the same way. Gonna have to get it in hand before making a decision.
As a father with two small children, I am a bit disappointed too. Not a deal breaker but certainly not enough to make me switch from Verizon's network.
At the pace new android phones are coming out, it won't be long before we'll get that front facing camera and when it does I'll get that too!

Hey Maddigital thanks for the great pics and specs! I was wondering if you could tell us how the back of the phone looks behind the battery door, if it clips on or slides on like the Droid. Also I was wondering if the Droid X has a red camera button cause everyone is speculating but I didn't see it in your pictures. Thanks again for everything.

Not to get too off topic, I agree. This forum is better that most other forums, and I for one want to keep it that way.
Anyway, I hope Moto(Ninja?)blur is useful or optional, and not just all social networking and nothing else, but I'm stoked for this phone. It looks awesome.
Honestly, the front camera isn't even that great. No one would even be mentioning if the new iphone 4 didn't have one.
Actually I don't think it has anything to do with the iPhone 4. More that the HTC EVO has it and that Motorola has stated they will start making it on their Android devices.
First post here! Looking at upgrading to my first smartphone.
With that said, the Shadow looks like a beast of a phone! I'm kinda concerned on how pocketable it is, in combination with a case that I'll likely get for it. Any thoughts?
First post here but have been a follower for awhile. I've really been looking forward to this phone since i heard about it. Been researching almost every 3-4 hours for as much info as I can find for over a month. What was really a huge factor for me was the front facing camera. I have 3 kids and would love the ability to see and talk to them, especially when traveling. I refuse to go AT&T & iphone which is Wifi only anyways "through 2010" as Jobs said. I had high hopes for Motorola to hit it out of the park. They almost did. Love the look and design but no front camera means this phone and most all others sold this year without one will seem very outdated. I love Verizon coverage but Sprint is offering me everything but the kitchen sink if I pick up EVO. 4G by end of July here in Tampa (recently announced we've been pushed ahead of Miami), 25% employer discount, waiving my activation fees along with first two months discount to cover time it will take to activate employer discount, free HDMI cable and car adaptor...Any thoughts?
@benjidude, i think that verizon is buying time, releasing phones with front facing camera on a 3g network can be daunting...that is why att is over wifi only for the iphone 4, i think that you should wait, get something less expenisve until vzw starts rolling out their front facing camera if thats what you want, motorola will definitely be releasing some more phones so there is a possibility of that, and HTC might have something in the works, but is sounds like u have made up your mind with sprint....i dont know, it is a matter of preference, i choose providers not phones...soo.

Haven't made up my mind yet. Thanks for your advice. It's getting so hard every time I walk by or drive by a Sprint store. I was just in the mall this morning and that EVO looks gorgeous but I'm a V-man for now. I still keep hoping the testers are wrong. If you look at the up close pic of the front of the Droid X you can see a small circle near the speaker to the right. It looks extremely similar to the EVO's front cam. Noticed that today as i was analyzing it in the Sprint Store. Crossing my fingers!
No. The Iphone can always use data and talk at the same time even over 3g. It's Sprint and Verizon that cannot use data/talk together. I think it's a shortcoming of CDMA.
I believe Iphone is only over Wifi either because 3g is too slow for a decent video chat or because at&t didn't want video chats clogging up their 3g network. I believe they can use alot of data.
Device(s): VZW Galaxy S3, Transformer Prime, Droid X (ret)

I would expect that video chat would use data for both anyway.
the Biggest reasons for me to NOT go with the Evo and pick up 1 for me and my wife,.
#1. Sprint's coverage has not improved in my area since atleast 2000-2001, and roams on Verizon with either NO or 1x data...
#2. The Evo "claims" to take 720 HD video, But from what samples we have seen it looks TERRIBLE!!!
Hopefully that "hump" is there to hold some decent optics.
Also any confirmation yet on the CPU in the X? still alot of conflicting info, according to the quardrant benchmarks this thing with 2.2 is going to be smokin,, Also hoping we have nice LOUD audio from this thing, the iphone is a piece of crap when it comes to call audio clarity and volume, and the speaker phone is 100% USELESS.

Motorola DROID X is an Android powered smartphone with a 1GHz processor, huge 4.3-inch display with 480x854 pixels resolution, 8-megapixel camera with 720p motion video capture and many other features. It's the newest addition to Motorola... Read More
