Default DX2 Perfect No Contact Phone

Alright, perfect is extreme. But I am having a hard time understanding why people are upset.
First off, no phone is for every one. All depends on what you want/need. So, lets look at a few things.

4G Many folks do not live in 4G areas right now. I do not. A friend of mine works in a 4G area and his thunderbolt went from about 90%+ to 15% battery life in 2.5hours. So even if I had 4G where I live, when would I use it? At that rate I don't think a car charger could even keep up. Plus bandwidth caps this summer.
Yeah, i'll wait until it works itself out.

Front Facing Camera Ok, I'm bummed about that one.

512MB of Ram Ok, keep in mind, this may not be the best phone if you are looking for a 2 year contact phone. But 512MB should be good enough for the next 12mo.

But this is where it gets great, for $449 from Verizonwireless off contact you get one of the fastest CPUs out, the second fastest GPU (think the SGX540 is still faster if I'm not mistaken), and that combo looks to be the most supported gaming phone combo for the near future.

Other PROs
Screen Highest res android phone if Im not mistaken.
Accessories It appears this phone will be able to use DX accessories, so for cheap guys like me, this is great!

For a guy or girl like me, this is great phone to buy off contact, and use for about a year and then about this time next year, eBay it, and get a quad core, maybe on contact. OR maybe go to sprint

For those waiting to flame, don't mistaken my ability to save up $449 as contradictory to being cheap. Wake up America, it's called a checking/saving account. Just messing

This is just my two cents, feel free to disagree and give you opinion. I love that!

No 4G isn't a huge deal. A very tiny amount of people are in an area covered by Verizon's 4G, it's even smaller than AT&T's 3G network :P

Have a front facing camera on my Thunderbolt. Have used it exactly once. Until every phone has one and there is standard default software for it on every phone, it will be nothing more than a gimmick.

512mb ram is more than enough specially for android, as to how it manges ram. However cpu power will be more demanding as the time goes on. I think even the atrix only uses 512mb for android and full 1gb is used in the dock mode.

The Droid X is no longer a cutting edge device, I think people have a hard time accepting that of their prefered device...just like what the Dinc, and Droid is...average now. Droid Bionic, Galaxy phones have supplanted it.

I've had this phone since Friday now.
Pros: Scrolling is smooth.
-Dungeon Defenders, and the N64 emulator runs extremely well. Destroys the fascinate.
-Screen is very very clear, and crisp.
-Battery life seems acceptable compared to the fascinate and thunderbolt
-Very light weight wise compared to the thunderbolt and the original droid.

Cons:
-psx4droid does not work well with tegra right now so it runs slower then the fascinate, and about as fast as the thunderbolt
-Screen while crisp, is extremely washed out (Talking about color).
-Sound coming out of the Minijack is about as good as the fascinate, but not nearly as clear as the thunderbolt. For some reason the quality of the minijack on the thunderbolt is extremely high. (imho anyway)

I'll post more later, but all and all, as an off contract phone, I’m loving it. Not a two year phone though imho.

Motorola Droid X2 Review - Smartphones - CNET Reviews

Cnet 4/5
I'm not a fan of Bonnie Cha, but i'll take it where i can get it. I love the 4/5 after soo many inital looks trashed it. CNET on the BOL postcast even trashed it. Quite a few no name websites said WTF, yeah well, they can wake up now and hopefully understand that Verizon's 4G has issues and this is real option. Not a throw away phone...
