Default Bought droid batteries from amazon-- holy shitaki mushrooms

Amazon.com: Motorola BP6X A855 Droid OEM 1300mah Standard Battery: Cell Phones & Service

HOLY----

I got two of these, was testing them all week. They both took about 5 hours to fully charge without me touching the phone.

They last about twice as much, if not more, than my stock battery. Since these appear to be from moto, perhaps moto has changed the batteries that they use since november? Or perhaps these were meant to go to some device that sucks battery faster than the droid. regardless-- GET THESE

well how long have you been using your droid with the packed-in battery for? batteries lose capacity over the months. and what kind of battery time are you getting with these compared to the packed in battery?

Bought one - not because I believe the claims for double battery life, but because I've been needing a spare battery for awhile now and these are definitely a good price.

Current state of the art on lithium ion batteries is 200-250 charge cycles before material degradation of performance. Especially if you've been riding your droid hard and putting it away wet by overclocking.

Makes a lotta sense to re-up on a cheap moto battery.

I just did, will report back.

Even if battery life is the same, that's still an amazing price for replacement batteries. I just ordered two for each of my phones. Thanks for the link EMSguy.

Some sites are reporting it as a 1300ma battery, which is less than the 1400 the Droid came with.

Although, if you go to Motorola's site, they never give the ma rating, but rather call it a "high performance battery."

It appears from most sties (including Moto) that it's the CLIQ battery, but is compatible with the Droid.

But back to the price...direct from Moto it's $50, and buy.com is getting $30 so yeah, even if you just get it as a spare it's a great find! Thanks.

I'll bet that even though it says "1300 MaH", it's actually the 1390 the Droid comes with stock. I've seen this same battery mislabeled on Newegg because the reviews confirmed it was 1390 not 1300 and you can actually see on the pic of the battery it says "1390 MaH" on it.

I personally love being ridden hard & put away wet, but I don't do that to my Droid. OCed to 1GHz, I have SetCPU downclock it to 125MHz when I'm not using it. My (original) battery at it's best gives me about a 30 hour charge with light use and the screen brightness turned down.
Had mine since mid December, charged most every night.

Good news that the batteries on Ebay are good, though. Go to www.batteryuniversity.com to learn facts about Li-Ion batteries. They should be stored in the freezer at 40% charge. This severely slows down the natural degeneration that occurs.
My guess is that nobody is warehousing Li-Ion batteries in a cooler! So it's my conclusion that new "old stock" is all too often what you usually end up with for battery "deals" on eBay. I've had bad experiences in the past with pocket cameras that are too much of a "yesterday" model to find batteries for easily. I've bought batteries for them on eBay from dealers only to find they were complete duds.

I just picked up a replacement battery on ebay for a total of about $3 including shipping. Thought it was a great deal. Well, it's about a $3 battery so maybe not such a great deal. The first battery I got from the dealer lasted me all of 5 hours - charged it up and let it die completely twice. It never got any better than 5 hours. Requested a replacement, got that the other day. Just got around to putting it in my phone - After an hour I'm already down to 50%. WTF!

Based on the comments in this thread I am going to give those amazon batteries a try. Thanks for the heads up.

Getting a pair of those plus this Amazon.com: Genuine Motorola Droid P323 Battery Charger System: Electronics will make your life sweet - then you could have multiple batteries charged simultaneously....

In fact, I might just go for those myself....

Mine arrived yesterday -- put it on charger @ 6, went out to dinner, fully charged when we got home @ 9, put it in the phone -- in standby all night and reading 80% now, 7½ hours later -- looks like the real deal

It sounds like a knock off of the Motorola battery. i had one from a different seller months ago and it was poor quality but look almost exactly like the OEM that came with my Droid. does it have the Hologram on the back? any irregularities compared to the Original battery?
Hope its working well for you either way.

I ordered it on the 10th and it shipped on the 12th. Five days, not bad. The even supply you a USPS tracking number so you can follow it.

Edit: JUST got it in the mail. Looks OEM to me, hologram and all! Will charge and let you know how it works.

Edit AGAIN: Came with a full charge! Using it now and it works brilliantly!

"lasts bout twice as much".. bah, not likely in a 1300 mah config

price is cheap, can't hurt to buy, but not buying into a claim of that much extra life. look at it as just a spare battery equal to what comes stock.

I got mine yesterday with a 10% charge. Today will be the first full day using it on a full charge... I wonder if there will be a difference.

If nothing, at least I have a spare battery.

Weird. I ordered mine on the 9th, shipped on the 11th, didn't get a tracking number, and I'm still waiting on it.

EDIT: It finally came. Arrived with < 5% charge. After only 1 hour of charging it's reporting a 70% charge, so once it's full I'll put it through a full day's worth of heavy use at work and see how it does.

Ordered 2 plus a battery only charger. Nice to be able to have a spare, fully charged battery ready to pop in on those long trips in the wilderness, spelunking / cave diving where I have absolutely no chance to charge my phone.

Goes great! Just as much life as my stock battery! I used about half the charge and then popped it in the refrigerator as a ready spare in the future. Back on the stock battery now. Nice to have it ready and waiting if my original battery dies on me!

man best 10 bucks I've spent in a long while! They hold a charge admirably as far as I can tell.

Now I keep a charged battery in my wallet at all times. My crippling technology dependency is getting worse and worse

FYI I found these on ebay for around $3.25 shipped.

Moto BP6X Battery For Motorola Droid A855 CLIQ MB200 - eBay (item 250661446576 end time Aug-04-10 07:33:54 PDT)

I bought one. If its crap I'll let you guys know but for $3.25 it's not much of a gamble.

Full day of VERY light usage at work has me somewhere in between satisfied and impressed.

Fully charged battery ~8:30 PM. Took it off the cradle

Mostly idle throughout my shift, just sent a couple texts and made a quick 5 second phone call. Used the browser for about 5 minutes during one of my breaks.

At home, 8:15 AM. 50% charge remaining.

So, roughly 12 hours, mostly idle/standby time, with GPS / Sync / BT on, screen auto-brightness, WiFi off, JuiceDefender toggling my APN.

Default Looks identical to my stock battery

I popped the cover off the back of my Droid and it looks 100% identical to the one's on Amazon...if the pictures are accurate. I ordered two.

Just got my battery.. completely forgot I even ordered it. Anyway, it looks identical to the oem battery, only difference is the build date. Did anyone else happen to check theirs? My "new" replacement was manufactured a month before the one in my phone was. Shows a date of 11/21/2009, while my original one is 12/17/2009. I guess it's not a big deal if they work, but that's a long time to be sitting in a box or on a shelf somewhere.

I wonder if these sellers are getting ahold of batteries out of refurbished/trashed phones and selling them as new.

If so then why do they perform so well?

Since I started running Good For Enterprise (Outlook email) my 24hr battery life dropped to 15 hours. This new battery is lasting much longer; it's still at 50% at the end of the day. I'm still going to charge it tonight though.
