Memory Issue...confusing to me

So, I keep getting a message saying I am low on system memory. Yet, I have never had that before even with all the apps I have had. After I First got it the message I started to delete my apps and it still would say it.

Even with my texts messages it would say they are full, which I would have a few texts in my in box yes, but my point is I have never had this message before. I understand what it means, it is just that my pics, videos etc are on my memory card, except APPS. So why is it starting to do this now and how can I fix it without deleting everything?

(Could it have to do with all the APP updates all the time)

I've only see that message when trying to install the latest SetCPU update on my Droid running Bugless Beast v1.1 (2.1 ESE81 rom). For some reason, this latest update will not load and always gives that insufficient memory error.

Ever since I switched to 2.2 (BB .04) I have been getting this alot lately. Any ideas any one?

According to Linda Manager, my applications are at 86% (225M / 261M).
