Default WAV Files

I tried searching forum for answer to this and couldn't find anything helpful.

Just installed 2.2 on my Motorola Droid and now WAV files won't play. I get my voice messages from the office via email attachment in WAV format. Any solutions?

haha not in those words i just said that the option to update to 2.2 came up so i said sure and now the phone is dead. they didn't even look at it, just said that they could warranty it if i had it less than a year so that's what we are doing.

Default Failed 2.2 download last night

I saw the system update come through after 11pm last night....first of all I wasn't certain it was legit and second of all, I didn't want to have trouble and verizon tech supp would be closed, so the first time I hit "Later". It came through again about 20min later and I hit "more info" and was notified that it was indeed froyo2.2 and that the download failed. I have reset my phone by popping the battery, spoke to Verizon, they referred me to Motorola. I'm waiting for level 2 tech support to call me back.

I REALLY do NOT want to reset my phone back to factory issue state as I had to last update....any ideas? Thanks, Cyn

The question I have is if I install this is there any risk when the second 2.2 OTA comes in?

I called Verizon and they told me the second OTA will be sometime in the next two weeks...d'oh!!

Not a huge fan of the new white background in the text messaging area. Anyone know of a way to get it to revert to the old black background?

Took about 5 minutes to reset the phone but when the phone came back on the browser works perfectly.

On an interesting side note I didn't have to go through the market and re-download and re-install all my apps. It automatically re-installed all the apps I had before. I did have to re-set up my e-mail, gmail, and facebook but that was easy. Took me longer to set up my home screens than anything else.
That is interesting because when I updated I completely lost my Gmail app and cannot get it back. Has anyone else had this problem?

I cannot find the Gmail app in the Market either.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

I saw this2.2 update - can no longer connect to exchange - Help - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

However, now I cannot connect to my Exchange Mail account at work (was working perfectly prior to upgrade). If I enable SSL, it says that I can't establish a connection to the server (SSL was enabled prior to the upgrade). If I disable SSL, it immediately returns an invalid username/password combination. (And I've typed the username and password at least 20 times. I couldn't have gotten it wrong that many times...)

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Go to settings->applications->Running Services

I found lots of stuff running that I didn't need....shut off wifi, gps, etc if you aren't using it...otherwise maybe the battery has gone bad.

I thought it wasn't working for me either, because on my previous phones i only had to press the earpiece button for voice commands. Long pressing would redial the last number like you say. I'm using a Plantronics and I can confirm the behavior quoted. A long press of the button brings up voice commands. I guess I no longer get to redial, but I can live without that as it was a hindrance more than a help for me (calling people when I really meant to turn the headset off).

I'm using plantronics 925. Long press activate voice dial. Double press activates last number dialed. You may want to try that.

I use the widget that has all those features on it and the only one i leave on is sync. Never use gps or wifi. The battery cant just go bad from working so perfect a few days ago before 2.2 update. Not gonna believe that one bit.

Is anyone else getting two or three captcha prompts when accessing a Google app (GMail, GDocs) or purchasing a paid app from the Market with FRG01B? Not every time, maybe about 25%. Then logging into the Google resource takes a long time.

I get a screen that shows to and message. the to part is blank and the message reads "And this is a test" What am I doing wrong?

Default Missing 3G after 2.2 Update.

Got the 2.2 Update on Thurs night & now I have no 3G, Web or Data. WTF?? I can still text & phone though. Went to the Verizon store but had to call tech support who told me I needed a replacement phone. I was ok with the 2.1 but wanted Flash, so I went with it. My Question Now, How can I get the 2.1 back just till I get another phone?? I still have the update (2.1) in the root of my sd card & tried to work it but wouldn't load. Please advise & I'm hoping not to do a full factory restore, but if that's the only option then fine, just want it to work!! Thanks in advance, Joe.....

Default No Artist/Album info in music

I got my Froyo update this morning and I just now realized that I have a similar problem. I'm using the standard music player and now it's not recognizing the artists/albums. They all show up as separate playlists or under songs.

Anybody else have this issue? Is this something that will get cleared up with the second update?

I am really hating this upgrade. I never had any problems with my phone before, but ever since the update I have had 2 main problems
1. Unable to acquire location in News and Weather App, very annoying since I like to check the weather forecast
2. Home Button does not work AT ALL. This is a huge problem for me. The only way to get back to the home screen is to continuously press the back button

I have read that a factory reset will sometimes fix issues with froyo, but I really do not want to do this. I don't have the time to renter all my contacts and configure all my settings.
Is there another fix? Is there any way to downgrade to 2.1 until this release is less buggy?

Thanks!

Try saying Ann's whole name as it is in your contact list.

You would downgrade before doing a factory wipe? that is crazy. a factory wipe does not clear your contacts if you are syncing them to the google servers. You will have to configure some of your apps settings, but a lot of apps have backup features you should look into. also some backup programs on the market will backup settings for individual programs.

FWIW my phone ran much smoother with the factory wipe.

Try recopying your music to the card.

Yes, but I'm having the issue on ALL screens. Some icons seem to be too big and if you can't place them in the middle of the screen, it throws them to the side and into oblivion! This is happening if I drop a new one onto the screen, or even try to move some icons. Note to all of the people that will tell us "I've never had that problem dude, you must be doing something wrong", it isn't every icon - but some do (lol - can you tell I'm frustrated by the fan boys? :P )

I still wish that moving an icon off to the left or right of the screen would let you move it to that screen.

I had the same problem, there were two spots on the main screen that I could not move icons too, the spots above, and below worked fine. A shutdown and restart fixed the problem.

I Installed Froyo 2.2 using OTA on my Motorola Droid. My battery power suddenly decreased and I have to charge it constantly now. Also, it won't keep a charge beyond 30%. In addition, my battery is extemely hot all of the time.

Is there a way to revert back to rom 2.01 or what ever it was prior to this update.

There have been a few posts about uninstalling any 3rd party Task Killers you might have. It seems the 2.2 has better app management and that the task killers are sucking up the juice. Could also be why the battery is so hot - something is running your cpu really hard. Go to Settings - Applications - Running Services and see what's running.

I don't know about google listen, but the tethering - if you bought the phone before 2.2, most likely your data package does not cover tethering. The new phones, the ones advertised for tethering, have it included in their package (I don't know if there is a cost difference though), but it doesn't roll backwards to us early phone owners.

Notsure Battery Drain since 2.2 update.

Since the Droid update this past week, my battery has drained completely every night, even after being fully charged and running app killer shortly before sleeping. I did leave the browser open last night when I set it down. I have left many apps open before, and it would never die overnight.
Any thoughts? Have others experienced this too?

Battery usage shows 72%-Voice calls and 16%-Android OS, 5%-Display, 3%-Cell standby, 2%-Android System, 2%-Phone idle.

Model number: Droid
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband version: C_01.43.01P
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-g103d848 Android-build@apa26#1

Task killers and ap killers defeat the main OS features of Android. If you kill a task and Android thinks you might use it, it will reload the task in anticipation. If ou have your task killer set to kill it, it will and Android will reload it. Android OS has very sophisticated task and memory management. Let it do its thing. The only thing it can't handle is a misbehaving app and you shouldn't have that installed anyway.

Android OS is not Windows.

Also, using the Home button leaves an application running. Using the Back button will close the task completely.

By the way, my battery life is much better with 2.2 than it was with 2.1.

I have the same problem now too. Doesn't happen often but it does. Have also hit Mute and Speaker a couple times too.

Sharing the pain by having pretty much every battery issue listed here, too: Takes FOREVER to charge, one of my docks won't charge it at all (yes, I'm in the process of trying an alternate cord for the dock, but the cord without the dock works okay), battery drains very, very quickly.

Last night I tried charging from a total drain and the phone would power up, make a bleeping noise and shut down. Did this five times before I moved it to a different charger. Weird.

Have had some issues with downloading app from the market, as well. They often hang during download and have to be force closed and restarted.

Beautiful Widgets won't load at all - hangs every time - and now I've passed the get a refund point. I'd rather just have it load. Anyone have an email for Beautiful Widgets? they don't list one on their website.

Try: support@levelupstudio.com. I used that last night. Found this email in the market.

If you created shortcuts on your screen, often times you'll have to delete and redo them.

All, Touchdown on my HTC stopped working once Froyo moved in. There seems to be a disconnect when the Touchdown app tries to read the certificate that I have installed so that I can pick my mail/calender etc off an exchange server. Any thoughts to get this fixed?

Default Frustration with 2.2 upgrade (battery life, sound settings, animations and more)

Always include:

Carrier:Verizon
Country / Language:English
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): 2.2 FRG01B

Since being forced to update to Android 2.2 my phone is TERRIBLE! I'm so frustrated. Here are my major concerns:

1. My battery life is vastly decreased
2. Every time I turn the screen on there is an unbearable lag time while the phone loads this ridiculous cloud animation that I can't figure out how to turn off.
3. I can no longer take my phone from ringing to vibrate to silent without going into the mother*(&U* settings and changing when I want the phone to vibrate (unbelievably inconvenient!!!)
4. Screen responsiveness is terrible. To cycle back and forth between home screens i am virtually forced to use the little dot dot buttons because I can't "slide" between screens effectively anymore.
5. Everything runs more slowly, and haltingly, making me feel like I have a cheap piece of crap phone.

All of these things were non-issues before the system update. I am a huge proponent of google and use as many of their services as possible but I have never been so disappointed as I am now. I can barely stand to use my phone now and I used to be so proud of it
