Well good, I respect your drive to eat right and exercise. I'm a strength and conditioning coach and I guess it irritates me when people get excited about food. Maybe I over stepped. Enjoy your fun but I think this time around I'll be sleep in my bed until I get my precious droid in my hands. Let us know how your adventure goes..

A modern car burns roughly 1 gallon of gas for every 6 hours of sitting idle. WOW THAT'S LIKE, ALMOST 3 BUCKS!!!

If you're addicted to junk food that's not our fault, nor is it McDonald's fault... stop projecting your own issues onto other people. The rest of us can manage to make/find perfectly healthy food for the situation. Is it so difficult to pick up some fruit and nuts as a snack? Or make a sandwich and put it in a brown bag?

I pity anyone who has to suffer your presence in real life. Is your full legal name Debbie Downer, per chance?

Haha true, I rationalize it like this: If it weren't for the fact that I got stuck with the 9-5 shift I would have been there before bubble boy anyway

Our store opens at 10 so I'll be working before the mobile people even show up =/

I find it hard to believe most modern cars can idle for almost 4 days without running out of gas.

Believe it! Although it really depends on the car...

Excessive idling can be bad in warmer weather (no air flow to cool, water pump not functioning at full capacity) but in the cold weather with the heat running it's perfectly fine. Police cars often have modifications to avoid damage caused by hundreds of hours of idling, but I doubt a night of sitting in the parking lot will do much.

Same here with my VZ store. Called in just to check stock of the Droid and the lady took my info, VZ phone number, and even sent an e-mail confirming the hold. Possibly it has to do with the market. I do live in a small town in which half of it is below the poverty level so I am sure that helps (not the town, but getting a Droid). Still getting there when the doors open, I don't want to chance it.

I was a police officer for years, still in federal law enforcement, but we did not really have many mods for idling, yet they still went for a while. Also, in the military, I would sometimes sleep in my POV because the barracks got so dang loud so as you said, I would have no worries! Crank it up, get in some good movies and grub, and let us know how you like your new toy in the morning...after you wake up that is.

There's no way I'd camp for the Droid. I walked into a VZW store today and they bagged one up for me with my name on it. The guy gave me his card and said "call me tomorrow when you're ready to pick it up." So I think I'll stroll in sometime around the crack of noon. I did the whole camping out thing with the first iPhone and returned it within 2 weeks...yea, I hated it that much. But to each their own!

Nothing like waiting all night for the object of your desire only to play with it for a few minutes before succumbing to the overwhelming influence of sleep deprivation...

Just kidding, I love camping out but have only ever gotten the chance to do it on Black Friday

deal? haha

i like what a cop is supposed to stand for, just not what A LOT are doing these days.
Not to totaly side track the thread, but I do know a few cops, and they are basicaly PAID and/or trained to act that way. It helps keep people from trying to cause trouble with them right off the bat.

That being said though, there is nothing harmfull about camping out for something like this. I agree, it is a BLAST, and can be a great way to meet people. I waited for the midnight release of the Burning Crusade a few years ago and had a great time! I don't play WoW anymore, but I doubt I will ever forget that.

about 10 people here so far in Tysons Corner.

I know i'm number 7 because this store was good enough to give each person a ticket so they could wait in their car. It's 39 degrees out right now.

I'm behind you guys 100%.

For all those who think it's stupid to camp out: don't camp out! It's your choice - this guy is doing it for fun, and I think that's great.

I bet that car STINKS in the morning!

Hey guys. I read all the updates in this thread. Very pleased to see other ppl in line. Its roughly 5 am and im in line with my chair. First one and only two hours sleep. I just couldnt sleep! My girlfriend is sleeping like a baby in the car still. About to make a coffee run soon. Oh and two of the managers who i have seen before were hanging outside last night and i told them about me camping. They smiled and said the first person in line gets something 'special'! im excited!

Good for you. I hope your dedication is rewarded with something cool. New fingertips after the frostbite has eaten yours, maybe? lol
