I'm charging mine now...I'll kick off a battery drainage test around 2pm EST. FWIW, I've only had 5 or so recharges since purchace last saturday. I work from home, play on in constanly with screen brightness on "0" since day one, and I get about 8-9 hours of use. I just installed Quick Settings which allows me to turn down srceen brightness a few ticks lower than native "0"...its about the level of the "lock screen".
All that to say that I don't think my battery is at full potential.

1. When the orientation of the program changes, the LED flashes off for a second. (FIXED AS OF Nov, 19 in v1.1)
Requests:
1. LED is not maximum strength, is there a way you could implement an adjustable scale of how much light the LED emits?
2. Maybe somebody could write a widget, so we could just hit a button on the home screen to turn the light on and off, instead of running the actual app. all the time.

Chet, if it helps, the guy that did the Quick Settings app (free, Market), has a sliding screen brightness scale, which allows a broader range of adjustment than stock. Maybe there's some helpful code in there?
Works great and i hope this below is a good additional donation.

Battery Drain Test started.
- Phone just off the charger at 100%.
- Screen timeout set for 2 min.
- If screen doesn't time out for on/off button, Quick Settings screen brightness set to -10% (it dims lower than native 0 dimmer level to that of "lock screen").
First paid app here too! This is the first smartphone that I've had that I've gotten into the whole app thing with. I won't have to pay for the updates will I? How do I update it when they are available? Thanks! Great app again!

Just go back to market and select the app, it will say update available and allow you to download, no additional charge.

My understanding is that updates are free. Should be able to get verification from the folks that had v1.0.

you can also download the aTrackDog app and manually check for new versions / updates for all of your apps at one time.
i heard there is a better tracking app, DroidMarket or something, but i havent been able to find it.
My first paid app. I can confirm that the light remains on when you go into the camera app by pressing the shutter button, and it can be used for video recording. Playing a video that you have taken will turn the led off and you'll have to exit the camera to turn it back on.

1 hour in, battery level per Service Menu, still at 90%. I've only gone into the phone 2-3 times for a minute to check settings. LED not even warm to the touch. I don't think this is putting undo stress on the battery.

Just bought it! Can't wait to see this app expand and become more widespread! Looking forward to adjusting the brightness of the LED's as well. Thanks again Chet!

1 hour 48min in, battery status just changed to 80%. Not sure if its 80% or 89%, as I'm using app from the Market. Just installed one that increments by 1%...I hope, but the native battery at top of screen just decreased from full.
Take if for what its worth...2 email accounts that may have synched maybe 1-2 times, and 5 minutes of screen time checking settings...no web browsing.

If i was him i would add this to the description in the market.
I notice if I have my droid set to auto adjust screen brightness and I turn led flashlight on the droid cranks my screen to full. Effectively blinding me. Any chance of having led flashlight temporarily disable the auto screen or the light sensor?
Thanks

I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention, and perhaps you could add this to the description. If you "fix" this app. and make it possible to adjust the strength of the LED, a maximum mode in an LED can (and if is strong enough for this phone, will) hurt the LED bulb after using it for extended periods of time (even in military grade equipment). So if you can keep it on a lower setting, do that unless absolutely necessary to put it to full strength. I also suggest you put a disclaimer that you are not responsible for broken equipment and that people use this software at their own risk. You don't want some jerk trying to sue you or be a nuisence, otherwise. Trust me, there are a lot of people with nothing better to do, than try and score a few bucks.
