Default Instant Messenging

What is the best instant messaging program that is free on the andriod?

I would like something that could interface with gchat and with AIM.

Thanks! Just got my phone tonight and I love it.

I don't have mine yet but I've heard that the Meebo app is really good at IMing.

Meebo is probably the best that I've tried.

I personally use MSN, and I'm looking for an app that will let me stay signed in at both locations (Computer and phone) because I use both alot, the new version of MSN allows this, do it often with my laptop + main pc when I'm away from home. Also Meebo doesn't seem to work with Facebook right now. Says I need to be online to talk to people, its weird.

Yeah I miss Beejive. I used IM+ on my BB, but apparently its not that great for Android judging by the reviews.

the first messenger i got is ebuddy, but it seemed buggy and i would sometimes have trouble seeing my buddy list, or any text on it, and sometimes the background was completely black.

I liked the chat layout in it though.

Now im using the meebo app.

I found it really odd that the Droid didn't come with the same Android IM program as the G1 and MT3G. Kinda frustrating actually when I first got it. I use Meebo though, my only complaint is that the buttons are a bit small.
