Anyone else having a problem hitting the touchscreen with your face while talking? I think whats causing it is the touch sensitive buttons at the bottom, which unlocks the screen and lets me hit other things. Is there a way to disable these in phone calls? I keep hitting add call and then the person on the other end cant hear me.
Device(s): Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Verizon Wireless CDMA/LTE Version

In pure darkness no problems with it up to the ear.
But in pure darkness, it may not give your screen back right away when you drop it down looking for the keypad entry, but isn't that the nature of the sensor? Nothing a tap on the power button doesn't fix though!
Thanks for that. But you can't copy past the viewable region on the screen. Anyone have an app that will allow you to do that? If I want to copy and paste some text from an article in a note, I would prefer to be able to copy whatever I want and not be limited to what is on the screen.
I ditched Verizon voicemail and am using GV for it. 2 pauses is all I need. Thanks for the tip OP. I was trying to figure out how to add 2 second pauses. Too bad you have to have the keyboard open to do this though.
do you (or anyone) have a Google Voice invite you could send me , if so, please PM me.
Yesterday I looked down and noticed I somehow turned on a feature that showed a clock (large, in landscape mode) and it was searching for my loction to give me the weather. Before it loaded I hit the Home button and the clock and weather cleared from the screen. Other Droid owners have said they've seen this clock/weather screen as well. Any idea on how I can get it back?
I downloaded aTrackDog. It finds the newest verions of all your apps and alerts you to download them. My phone is new so I have only had 1-updates here or there so not sure if it will download all at the same time or if it lets you select all the updates and install them at once.

Without the Media Dock that is sold you can use an app called DockRunner to bring this up.

It must of been activated by magnet. that is how the dock activates that mode.
Otherwise, get dock runner, its an app that will activate it for you
anyone have a solution for saving attachments from gmail directly to the SD card? I have tried the docs to go app (free), Astro, AndroZip, and I/O File manager. no luck. Best I can do it preview. Looking for a means to be able o just SAVE any attachment directly to the SD card, don't necessarily want/need to open it at all.

I think the Droid's own Market App does pretty well at this, though I guess only for those apps you get there.
Can someone tell me how to go directly to a web address using the dolphin browser and not always search that address in google? I hit menu and Go but it always puts the address in a google search and the sites I'm trying to get to don't show up.
An example if anyone wants to try to see what I mean: www. x264.me (no space after www.)

anyone find a button combo to take screenshots yet?
yes.
the camera button takes screenshots...
...
... really it does

... when you have the latest version of dxtop installed and have selected the "dxtop screen capture" option.
kinda mungs up the button for the 3 or 4 other apps fighting for that button, but does add an ability that I hadn't seen elsewhere and was the inaugural question of this thread 4 pages ago.
am loving dxtop, even more now that the folders work on droid. I got 4 screens I can get at w/ a single swipe, 5 prime apps at the bottom of all screens, useful folders w/ categorized apps, and bonus! screenshots w/out using the dev kit or rooting.
I got the vibrate setting one, and finally found out how to vibrate for messages, but is there any way to also turn of the APP noises. I want my phone to be silent/vibrate only, don't need all the bells and whistles.
there is an app called Quick Profiles.
just do a quick search on the market and you will find it.
It's free.
I like it alot, you can make however many profiles you want and name them as well.
What makes it the best is it will let you customize every aspect of sounds and display on your phone.
god this phone is amazing.
it literally does everything.
i even saw an app for a "vibrator" if you know what i mean.
i laughed at that for a good five minutes, not to mention someones comment was Droid DOES!

Can Quick Profiles be used to turn off that annoying tone you hear when you tap the end button when finished with a call?
Is there a way to have the flash on while recording a video? Yesterday I tried to record something for a project, but since it was night, it was too dark to see anything.
I was wondering if there is a quick way to have my droid only sound for phone calls. i like to turn e-mail/text notifications off when I'm sleeping and need a qiuck way to shut them on or off.....like a sound profile....

quick profiles will do that for you, just go in and make a profile named sleep or something, and you can make it so notifications are silent, and turn the ringer volume for a phone call up to 100%. hope this helps.
The Motorola Droid - the first ever Verizon Android Phone - exploded onto the mobile market with an incredibly successful ad campaign that brough Android to the masses. With a huge and vibrant touchscreen, solid metal body, full QWERTY keyboard, 5M... Read More
