Default Hearing two tones at once when receiving text messages

I currently have my gmail set to play a tone called "green tunnel" as its notification and my sms to play "life mushroom." Under the main settings tab, the default notification tone is "silent." For some reason when I get a text message, I'm hearing "green tunnel" and "life mushroom" at the same time. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you using Google Voice? If so, is SMS being forwarded to your GMail?

I am not using Google voice or any of the available apps that forward SMS to gmail. It's weird, right?

Definitely. Try removing the association with each ring tone and then re-associating. If that doesn't work, remove the association, power cycle the phone and re-associate. If that doesn't work, try removing, powering down, removing the battery for a minute, then reversing the steps and see if it works then.

I currently haven't tried associating tones with various functions yet as I am in classes most of the day and prefer vibrate...

Okay, so I set all notifications to silent. Then I turned off the phone, removed the battery, and turned it back on. When I send myself a text, I'm still hearing "green tunnel."

So I'm an idiot. Last night I took some cough syrup with codeine and installed a program that set my sms tone separately from the default settings, so that's what was going on. I just don't really remember last night, so I forgot about it. Now Mario won't be getting 1-up mushrooms while going down green pipes. That was madness I tell you, madness!

(Can you tell this medication is still making me loopy?)

Also, Who is John Galt?
