I don't know if they can't play them but when he takes video and text's me the video it is in .mov format. Which makes sense cause that's Apple's movie format. So you think the Droid can read mp4 files? and which media player would you recommend?

I'm used to windows mobile and being able to open almost any file. Not enjoying the incapabilities....

Droid can play mp4 and 3gp video files. May be more. You need to install ASTRO app. in order to find and play the files.

There are 2 options:

Plays most .mov + standard android stuff:
Search market for "Meridian"
Review:Meridian Player Android App Review by AndroidTapp.com | Android Tapp. Android App Reviews

Plays about everything:
Go to market, search for "RockPlayer"
Or get it at http://rockplayer.freecoder.org/

May get a little choppy and slow playback, but hey you can at least view them

(I made an account just to answer you so u better be thankful! )

Act 1 Video Player should be able to play Mp4 files. I have some videos that I edited with Final Cut Pro and can play them on my Droid. That is after I compress them and export them to a file that can be played on the phone.

These are the media players (for video) that I use almost exclusively. Excellent links for a first post!!! Welcome to the forum aragagg.
