Default Anyone else ever notice this about the physical keyboard?

Check out this picture... look at the corner of my "M" key. It's curled up a bit... It seems that all of the keys are "stickers" of sorts on a membrane? I thought it was a single molded piece but no? I guess what I am wondering is whether this is normal or if I need to get my Droid some dandruff shampoo?

looks and feels to me like its simply a piece of thin plastic over contacts like on one of the old nokia back in the day that had the rubber button pad under the faceplate you could easily swap out colors.

yeah, I get that feeling too... except for the way some of the letters are curled (like the "m" in the pic above). I got my thumbnail under that corner and it felt like if I gave it much pull, the letter would peel off. I'm assuming that's how all of them are put together but was curious if anyone else had issue with their letters not lining up or curling or whatever.

for the record, I ran my fingers down the keys (pressing down) so as to push all the letters flat and the overall look of the keyboard improved. It looks more flat now.

This feeds into my worry about the keyboard. Been sitting on the fence between Droid vs Eris. Would like to know if this should be a general concern. From the picture the problem seems worse that just the 'm' key. Thanks to all for the information.

Absolutely. Everyday. I won't say that I'm as fast as I am on a computer keyboard, but it's pretty good for only using four digits.

I only open it to show pepes, I never thought I would/could do the touch board but I do way better on it than on the physical one.

I type on the physical keyboard with my thumbs in a rocking motion. How do you type with four fingers? Is the Droid sitting on a table?

Honestly, I don't really use it that often.. I have the NES and SNES emulators on there and have to pop it out for those... that's when I noticed the button curling. Like another poster, I never thought I would use the virtual keyboard more but turns out I do.

sorry about that! didn't realize the fashionistas' guild had a representative on this site

That case wasn't my first choice... but the company that I work for has pretty conservative standards for acceptable business stuff and since I got my Droid by requesting permission to "test" it for the company, I felt a shiny neon pink snap on cover might be counter productive toward that end

It's been widely documented that some case covers peel up the keyboard because they catch. The one that's designed by Motorola doesn't have a tab on the underside of the left side that can catch. It's tabbed only at the top, bottom and right side of the screen.

I can confirm the case I'm using has no tab on that edge and there is in fact a decent bit of clearance there. Good to know about the issue with cases That have tabs on that edge though. Definitely something to keep in mind when selecting one.
