Hey everyone im sorta a beginner to this stuff, my friend had rooted my phone for me and i installed an app that changes what the battery icon looks like well it told me to reboot for effect and the phone never came back on, it doesnt go past the motorola logo.

Rooted Motorola Droid
Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Cyanogenmod 7

i can get into the Clockwork mod recovery v2.5.0.1 and my options are
-reboot system now (goes back to the motorola logo)
-apply:update.zip
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-nandroid
-partitions menu
-advanced

i dont want to do a factory reset if possible, i would like to not go get all my apps and data but if thats what i have to do then so be it.

if i do the factory reset will my phone still be rooted or will it be like a brand new android? i still want root.

My guess is your tried to install a theme and it didn't like it or it was not meant for CM7. That said I am also guessing you did not back up your ROM before installing said theme.

Not trying to be rude only making an assessment. If you have a back up just re-install it and you will be back in business. If not you will need to reflash your ROM again.

A factory reset will not help as your ROM is corrupted. If CM7 and the gapps are still on your SD card navigate to them in your recovery, then flash them. Once that is done you should be back in business. When you load up your ROM and it is stable make a back up (whether in recovery or from ROM Manager). Then you can try installing your themes having a fallback that has all of your apps and such.

If your original ROM files are not on your SD card you will need to mount your SDcard to a computer, download a ROM (if CM7 then also put gapps on your card), then flash it from your recovery. This will again get you back in business. Sorry to say that either way your apps will need to be re-downloaded and your data will be gone.

Thanks, i got it before i read this.

i installed something to just change the way your battery looks but i went to my rom on my sd card and loaded it and now everything is back to normal all apps still there.
