Default Repeat Emails throughout the day! (VZW Droid)

I've been lurking since I got my VZW Droid, and decided to join up so I could get an answer. From day 1 my Droid has been re-recieving the same 5 emails! I get other new email fine, but these 5 just keep coming back! When I get them I select them all and click "Mark Read" and they all change from white to grey, but then maybe an hour later I get the notification and they are all white again! I suppose I could just delete them from my email completely. (This is with a Hotmail account by the way).

Any thoughts?

Other than the email issue, I'm having a blast with this phone!

You are not alone buddy. POP3 leaves a lot to be desired on the droid. Go ahead and star the issue and leave a post.

Issue 1507 - android - Email app doesn't delete emails on POP3 server and doesn't mark them as read - Project Hosting on Google Code

FYI, I have the same problem with IMAP. It seems randomly, it redelivers messages I have already deleted from the phone side.

Make sure you are actually opening and allowing emails to fully load if they have attachments. Any email with attachments will re-appear as new if you try to mark as read or delete without opening it individually. You have to open the email and wait for the content to fully load on screen. Only then will the read/deletion "take".

Its annoying but right now its the only solution I have found.

This is what I have found. It does suck but it stops the continuous alert of the same email coming in.

I was not aware of this. While annoying, its still a great tip. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know I'm not alone. I'll try the fully opening thing and see how that works!

Have you tried K-9? I used it for a little while and it seems like it's overall a better app than the default E-Mail application. It might take care of that problem.

Have you tried using IMAP instead of POP3 if that's what you are using?
