I understand what you are saying but I only see 3 specific posts where people say they ordered 3 and who is to say they dont have mutiple Dorids in their household?? Then on top of that I see people offering to send them to others in need ,who missed the boat, for free as well.
Mainiacs assumptions and name calling are unwarranted.
Maybe YOU should go back and reread the thread that spawned this one, the post that told others about the offer and in it the original request for confirmation of people getting 3 covers, that you even replied in several times, before you assume I'm off base.
brnr17 was exactly correct, people should have ordered 1 cover if they had issue with their original, not 3 "so they could e-bay" them.

LULZ i dont even own a Droid...Yet but i ordered 3 doors i might put them on ebay... These doors are not cheap.
Where exaclty on VZW is this "door" part? I've searched the site for accessories, etc. and have not been able to find the battery door ANYWHERE! Of course I'm logged in to My Verizon, so I should be able to see things available for my phone, right?
Is there a part number or something to use as a search reference?
I've read on here that Verizon says it is sold out. Does that mean it was taken down from the site?

Edit: How nice, ebay link becomes advertising
Do you honestly think I don't remember posting in that thread? And what was my response to that very post you quoted? At the end of the day its still just a $4.99 battery cover and not even worth the time it has taken us to argue about it...

And yet, some people will order 3 and try to ebay the extra two. That's what is pathetic and I understand why Mainiac would call that out.

Well said Master.... I received a Pm asking me if I needed a door and this particular person said he /she had an extra one and would sent it to me for free never said I'll sell you mine.

This thread should be closed, like the original one where I posted the link.
Please realize that I shared the link here AFTER it was already posted on a HUGE website, WWW.SLICKDEALS.COM, where people were probably already hoarding the doors.
It was also posted on other numerous Android forums such as adroidcentral and howardforums.

I ordered 3 and I only have a slight problem with mine, but I have a suspicion that it will get worse. I ordered the extra two that I can paint it and in other ways customize it. Maybe make a droid eye on the back...I would not do that with my current one because it is my only one.
I ordered 3.. got them 2-3 days ago. Go ahead and cry about people ordering 3 and getting them.. running out the stock when you know damn well you would have (or did) try to get 3 as well. You just lost out on the race and are bitter for it.
As mentioned before this was posted on slickdeals before it hit this site, and anything that gets mislisted does not last long thanks to that site. You think that anyone actually ordered just one? or thought "hey my door is fine.. maybe I should just leave em there for someone else.." .. I don't think so.
So now I have 3 backup doors that should last me the life of my phone, not that I have any problems with my current one but ya never know. Had I not gotten them, oh well, has happened before on many of the slickdeals postings.. it was only $15 anyway. I might as well get something for the $4 grand+ I'll be paying Verizon over the next 2 years.

got the same email. i ordered the same day they offered it.
We received your order for a replacement battery door(s) (MOTA855BATDR) for the DROID by Motorola. Unfortunately, this item is temporarily out of stock. We will ship your order for overnight delivery as soon as we receive additional inventory. Based on current inventory delivery schedules, you should receive your order between 1/12 and 1/20.
We appreciate your business and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
EDIT: which is good because I got a free one a while ago and they gave me the same type of battery door as my old one. there was no difference. hopefully these will actually be the ones with the thicker padding.

So if you ordered and are still waiting I guess there is hope still.

I also received the email stating the doors would be shipped between 1/12 and 1/20. I just checked my order status on the VZW website and it says my order has been canceled. Easy come, easy go!

MOTA855BATDR is what I have on the doors I received.
Hello all. I also got a new battery door, but I got it in a different way that seems to be less hassle free from what people are posting here. I didn't bother to go through verizon. I simply went to the contact section on the Motorola webpage. I explained that as much as I love my Droid, I can't stand the battery door problem, but I had been told they could help. Four business days later, I'm holding an improved door in my hands, 100% free of charge and free of hassle. I HIGHLY recommend this way.
Now on to the door itself.
It's the same thing as the original door, except the padding in the middle is slightly larger, and for whatever reason that helps a ton. That's all you need to know lol.
Thanks, you saved me a trip to Fedex, today makes the second Day they claimed no one was home, and I'm expecting a few packages this week, didn't know which one it was, now that I do, I can just wait for them to try again...
can someone tell me how i can get this??
surfed through verizon website and still a negative on how to order it..
it was a one to two day deal. it is not offered anymore. though, what you can do is go to Motorola's website and use the contact us form and say your cover is falling off and they will probably send you a new one for free.
is this an issues to the older phones. I got mine a week ago and the "door" as you guys call it is on there really good. Crazy weird you all arnt protecting it with a cover? Seems more logical then trying to rip verizon off haha.
package came but i had to pick it up after a certain, was expecting something important from my relatives and was sure this was it.. so i rushed to the fedex place and ripped the (big) box open to find.. my 2 doors..
i think i must have forgot about them or that i figured they cancelled it.
