Default Best countdown timer? (Kitchen timer)

Anyone have experience with a good countdown timer that works well with Droid? I think I downloaded the "Ultimate Stopwatch" once and it didn't work well (The alarm sound was way too soft). There are dozens of timer apps, and it seems people have various problems with all of them, aside from maybe a few pay ones.

But I just want something really simple. Just for timing things like cooking stuff in the oven and poker games. Any suggestions?

Try the UltraChron Stopwatch from "The Spinning Head'. There is a free version that is pretty nice, but doesn't let you change the alarm from the basic ringer, or paid version for 0.99. Sounds great on my Droid.

I have tried many of them, and my personal favorite is "Timer" by intuitit. My biggest thing about any app, is how quickly can I get the app to do what I want it to do? I feel I can set the timers faster on this than any of the others that are out there. Dialing in a time is so much faster than having to press the + and - keys to get to where you want it. I also like how you can save timers that you often used. I have saved about 10 of them at 5 minute intervals so I can just quickly choose one instead of having to set the time. It also lets you pick your ringtone and volume so it's not the volume you set for your phone. It will continue to ring until you stop it.

Still have to say that Ultrachron is the best. I use it for my job and for cooking. The voice alerts are the best for multitasking/working on something other than the phone. I also really like that it keeps track of the time that a countdown is exceeded. If you need to keep the steak on for another minute, just wait until it says "One Minute Over"!

Chef's Kitchen Timer by Celton.
Had very fast keypad time entry. Need 1:20? Just type 90. (minutes)
No silly mechanical wheel or dial simulations that just slow the interface down.
Only gripe is that the alarm runs forever (needs timeout.)

So if I need 1 hour 20 minutes, I should type 90 minutes? Is that like some new kind of metric system?

"Tick" is my favorite timer app. Extremely simple and intuitive.

Hey

I'm with tjreishus on this one, timer (star) by intuitit is the best. I've hated for ten years that nothing on my computer was as good as the timer on my frig in the kitchen, now, this is better! I love swinging my finger around the circle to set the time. Perfect use of the touchscreen.

Hi there, I just released a new kitchen timer that remembers the timer of the products using the barcode.

If you want to give it a try, you can download the lite version here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.whiterabbit.pastimer.lite and the full version here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.whiterabbit.pastimer

You should give TimerDroid a try.
It is a timer app which allows you to run several timers in parallel and with configurable replays. In addition a widget to start your timers directly is also offered!
Best of all it's free and has a nice UI.
