Default How is your power button?

I just got my Droid but the power button seems to feel mushy clicky instead of how a button should feel with a proper click when engaging. What about you guys? Mine like mushy click feel but if I press dead center then its a near perfect less mushy click.

Mine is fine, when I can find it. This is my biggest complaint about the phone.

I agree, I sometimes press where I think it is and it isn't there.

But otherwise, it is an actual click. In my quiet living room with just some background refrigerator noise I can hear it click holding the phone an arms length way.

My power button is Perfect imo. Its the camera button that i have a problem with, it is so loose and wiggly it feels like its about to fall off and the slightest touch triggers it.

I don't hear a "click" when I press my power button. My camera button seems fine and actually kind of clicks... my volume button is all wiggly and feels like it will fall off. I have even considered running it up to the Verizon store to make sure it was okay before my 30 days was up.

I seem to be lucky. First unit, and my power has a nice click feel, and camera button feels nice/solid as well. I've actualy been impressed with the overall buildquality in general with this phone. Was worried if I'd get a good one and it seems I have.

Battery life is just 4.5 hours under constant usage.Screen is at 30% too. Not cool.

Well, it's not "firearm" tolerance, I wouldn't say there's much play. Just a lil bit.

Overall, I'm pleased with build quality.

No clicks or other problems with my power button and I shut my phone off about 2x a day. Not that I have problems with my droid, just addicted to it and need to do some work, lol.

Mine is solid, but does not 'click'.
All of the buttons on my phone seem to work well, they r all rock solid feeling.

Mine has a body glove on it and if I reach in with my fingernail I get a nice click with a faint sound. If I'm feeling around with the pad of my finger I can't tell if I've clicked it until the screen comes on.

Interesting. I tried a couple more droids at the store and I just found one with a perfect click.

Can you guys describe your clicks? When I push it with my nail I can actually hear the click too but when using the pad of my fingers I can feel it a little but not that much.

Also there is a little give in the section and the side of the button away from the headphone jack goes in further before engaging while its instant on the side of the button close the headphone jack.

Overall, its not a completely sturdy fixed button for me that just moves laterally and has no give.

My power button feels like this exactly, I thought it was intentional. In fact my biggest concern was the volume rocker, which as others have desribed is very loose and wiggly. Maybe I will head up to Verizon as well and check out other Droids as well.

The power button sucks. Biggest beef with the phone. Always having a hard time pressing or finding the thing.

Although my power button doesn't click like others are stating, I actually like the fact that it is not easy to accidentally press. I know that I am in a small minority on this topic, but I would rather have to put an extra little effort into pressing the power button intentionally than unintentionally pressing it all the time in my pocket.

for some reason, when I press my power button, my phone starts a weird buzzing noise like a light saber.

And when I wave the phone around, it does that “vroom, vroom” sound, like a Jedi lightsaber.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

The only point of this thread was to see if my button would fall off or stop working.

Aww, I was happy with mine until you pointed 'that" out, haha... Mine does appear to be somewhat wiggly...

My real issue that I'm finding is that the screen suddenly has some "give" along the lower 3/4" of the right side above the search button.

What's strange is sometimes it's tight and no give, sometimes it moves and almost (not quite) clicks like a Blackberry Storm! May be temperature oriented.... 10 days in and it may go back for a swap.

Thought I had a good one.

Ahhh this is a known issue with a very small percent of the 42/09 builds. Just take it to the nearest Verizon store and they will replace it.

Mine is mushy. And my volume rocker and camera button are VERY loose feeling, are you guys telling me that some of you have perfectly sturdy hard keys?

Also, does it take a few seconds of holding on the camera button to launch the camera, or do you just click and it launches? Cause I have to hold mine in for a few secs.

You have to press and hold. It is intended that way so it doesn't go launching in your pocket accidentally.

The volume and camera keys are fairly loose feeling, I think that is just the way it is designed.

For the camera button, mine is more than just a click. I hold it for maybe half a second and it does a short vibrate. After the vibrate I can release the button but it is a second or two more before the camera app comes up. I like that it takes more than a quick push so it doesn't come up every time I bump the button.
