Default How do you save sounds/songs??

My daughter sent me a sound/song (very short file) that i would like to save and use for a ring tone, but i can't figure out how to save it.....any help out there?

We would need to know how you have it in now. Is it in gmail attachment, stock text.handcent or something else?
