I'm using it now. It's pretty cool, but getting around in my albums is a little weird. The widget looks nice though.
If anyone else was curious, it does seem to have an option in the settings to allow changing of songs via an external device, but I haven't been able to try it with my car deck yet to see if it works.

Installed 3 or cube (not sure what official name is) and really enjoy it overall. For those that want an idea of what it is all about the screens below show that you swipe up or down to rotate the cube and scroll album art, you swipe left or right to rotate the cube and scroll by letter (although you cant really see the cube against the black back on the screen shot its there). The other screens are of the album playlist view and the alternate overall view which is wall view vs the cube view.
Would like to see...
A ff, and rew function. The seek is nice but not accurate enough.
A bookmark function, for those audio books.
Bluetooth control. It plays over bt now but when i try to pause/play/next/or prev using bt controls it starts playing the stock player in the background so 2 songs are on at once (kinda fun but not functional).
Overall this is a great start of a media player that is amazing at getting album artwork automatically and is fun to use as well as functional and clean. Great work dev! and I hope you don't mind the screen shots.

Ok. I'm on a rooted Droid. I installed 3 and it worked great. Dropped the medium wiget on to my screen and it came up with "Problem Loading Widget". Every time I try and remove it I get a error "launcher 2 has stopped" it's a loop that won't allow me to move or remove the widget.
Anyone know the answer to my question - what is the function of the "--" to the left of the Play button, and does it do anything when you press it? It does nothing for me...

It does nothing for me also but i believe this is going to be the playonce, loop once, or continual loop function. The right one is shuffle so makes sense that the left one will be the play opt.
@rogue994
Think you may need to use astra or another process mgr and kill off the 3 process to get rid of the widget. I have not had this happen when I tried the widgets though.

This app is so cool. In case you guys didnt realize this, I just did. At the bottom when you are playing a song it displays the song name and what not...If you want to fast forward just click towards the right side of the name and it will take you to that part of the song. If that made sense.
@Doubledee90
yeah but that is a search function, vs ff. It is great for music but hard to use if listening to an audiobook that you want to get back to where you left off. Fat fingers small screen syndrome.

My only problem with 3 is that I HAVE to queue the songs. I would like to just find my artist, pick the album, and press play. Then have a list view of the album..
I agree on the queue thing (kinda). It would be nice for it to auto create the queue but there is the option after selecting an album to queue all which then creates a complete "playlist type queue" for the album. Then when you press the queue button it pulls up that albums "playlist" so you can jump fwd in play order. The downside to this queue type list vs playlist is that you can only jump fwd in order since it removes the prev. songs from the queue. BTW in your queue list if you long press song it auto removes them from the queue so it is pretty easy to create more custom queues so they imitate playlists.
I like it, but on the widget, it doesn't seem to show the name of the song I'm playing. Or am I doing something wrong?
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. As far as I know, the widget just shows album art which I suppose is a drawback for some (doesn't bother me).
This one is a keeper. Might get rid of Meridan player.
I just did this very thing the other day. I never liked Meridian's interface much. It was difficult to selecet an artist or album, and simply play the songs.
I've had this happen twice now - the cube disappears from the app. I enter it and the top and bottom UI is there, but the cube is just gone. I've tried swiping/touching where it should be, but it won't come back.
Last time this happened I had to uninstall/reinstall to fix it, and it doesn't save album art, so had to re-do that again as well...
Love the app, hope dev makes good progress and has an update soon.

I have the album art in my m4a files but ^3 won't show the art. Even after I long press on the album and select the local one. In fact, if I don't have an albumthumbs folde ron my sdcard, it says local art is unavailable. So I don't think it's even using the art in the file for the local option. It's just piggybacking on the default player's cache. At least the default player uses the art in the m4a file to create the thumbnail.

After letting it download art I can select the local art for the ones it got wrong. Has anyone found a single music app on android that can shuffle albums instead of tracks like iTunes?
Very nice looking app. There is though one thing holding me back from using it, is that like the default android music player, it does not seem to display the songs by album names as I need it to.
I have tons of music without album names or just random things written in that category. So it groups together all the songs that have blank or random things written in the "album" category all into one group, which is bad for me.
Mixzing, which is what I'm using, does a better job at displaying that.
Here's an example of what happens in the android and "3" music player:
I search for an artist "Kanye West"
It shows me 4 albums
However one of the albums is a "blank" album name:
It tells me there's 2 Kanye West songs out of 200 songs that have a "blank" album name
When I click into that "blank" album, it displays all 200 songs with "blank" album names instead of just those 2 Kanye West songs.
In Mixzing however, when I click into a "blank" album name, it properly only shows those 2 Kanye West songs.
So idk if it's some setting or something I'm doing wrong. But that's why I personally have only used Mixzing. And I really don't have the patience to go through 400-500 songs individually correcting the album names.

downloaded it today and have the medium widget on its own page (I like my screens minimal) I really like the UI and had no problems with it automatically grabbing album art. I'm looking forward to seeing the development of this app for sure!
You might want to look up a program called Mp3tag Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...)
This is a great, easy to use program to auto tag all your music. It has the option to look up songs off the amazon database and replace all your tags globally with the correct tags or just certain fields, including art work.
I really like it and it has allowed me to really clean up my music library fairly quickly. I keep all my music on a folder on my comp as a backup and Mp3tag will auto look up that folder each time you start it so its nice to keep everything organized.
one thing i don't like about Mixzing is that you can't force it to update album art, unlike 3 which lets you update everything at once. from what i can tell, mixzing only updates album art as you play the song and it won't update if you have no service, as in underground on the subway or something. and also, when you unplug your headphones out of the jack it doesn't auto stop the music. i don't get that because even the stock media player lets you do that. i like being able to just unplug my earphones and stopping the music all in one step :P
Mixzing didnt work for me because I also didn't like the fact that I unplug my headphone and it keeps on playing. I also did not like the fact that Mixzing is constantly going out searching for suggestions and the star rating system. I just want a good "iPodish" player to use my amazing android phone as a great multimedia player as well. I actually wish rockbox would get ported to android. On a similar note though the 3 player does the opposite of Mixzing in that it automatically starts playing a song when I plug in my headphones, which is kinda annoying. I want to be able to press play or switch to another song when I get in the car without having to quickly press pause first.
One thing I've noticed about 3 is that it does not seem to multi-task well... If I click on facebook, and am scrolling, it just stopped in the middle of a song... seems to happen occasionally...
Another thing that I think is wierd is that it lists all the albums along with the playlists... shouldn't that be it's own search function? I get that artist is searchable from the cube its self...
I do like that it found all the album art (and even other art out in the world you could choose instead) and the small widget is nice and tight, and still gives the ablbum art, song/artist info, and easy to press pause/FF buttons....
I'm impressed, and can't wait for the small bugs to get ironed out.

Thanks I'm gonna check that out, hopefully it works for me
I have read a few things on this music player and i finally decided to venture away from tunewiki and try this out. Wow i am so glad i did, what an amazing interface. For one its free, and it has a great album cover finder built in. I have paid for album cover apps and most of them suck, the one that is built into this player found everything i had with no problems. I have only been playing with it for a few hours but i discovered the neatest thing. When i connect my phone via bluetooth to my b uetooth enabled car stereo and wirelessly stream music, i can use my wireless IR remote made for my pioneer 9800bt head unit to switch songs on the phone. Now i can go down the road and fast forward, skip through playtlist set on inside of the "3" music player and not have to take my eyes off the road. Hours afterwards i dumped tunewiki, i have no more sue for it.To fine it just search 3 music player in the forums and you can figure out how to find it on the market place. Rockon...
I enjoy it when it works, half the time the block won't come up and ill get a blank screen. Does this happen to anyone else? Are there any fixes shirt of uninstalling and reinstalling?
