Default my Droid's got weird reception/service

My sister just got a brand new Droid about 4 days ago. I noticed when holding both droids next to each other that her Droid always has 1 extra bar of service than mine. I don't understand why?? Like she will have 4 3g bars and i will have just 3. Sometimes if she has 3G but none of the bars are lit, my droid is on 1X. We live in a rural area and 3G coverage is spotty but it works pretty well most of the time. I just don't get why her droid would be getting better reception than mine? My phone does have root installed, but no custom rom or anything. Just a couple mods to the video recording quality and auto hi quality youtube videos.

also tried to load the same website on both droids and hers went pretty fast. mine was stuck on 1X.

Have you updated your PRLs?

Call *228, and select option 2. That may alleviate the problem.

My friend's Droid is the same way. It simply gets better reception than my Droid and loads pages faster as a result. Luck of the draw I guess.
