But only when Adobe flash becomes available. I just read on *edit- gizmodo that flash will be available "later" this year but only to phones using 2.1.
Now with 2.1 do they break the root? I would assume they would. Also if they do then how long would it normally take to reroot?

The community will have 2.1 rooted relatively quickly, but it may be some time before quality ROMs are released for it. If I'm not mistaken, I think the Nexus One is already rooted.

I'm not so sanguine...I would not accept the 2.1 update OTA unless you're OK waiting for some undetermined period to get root back. It might be quick, but it might not. As I understand it, the Eris (released same day as Droid for VZW, earlier for Sprint) still isn't rooted.
