After looking at Verizon store, Best Buy, Target, and Dicks sporing goods... A salesperson at a Verizon Kiosk at the mall told me that Verizon is designing an armband for the Droid that should be available this spring.
I looked through all the threads here, as well as at all the stores listed, and cannot find one that fits the Droid. Many different Iphone armbands are just a bit too small and do not fit the Droid.
Device(s): HTC Droid Eris to the Motorola Droid to the Big DX!!!

It is evident anyone looking for an armband wants to exercise. I picked up one from Fry's electronics that was for an iPhone that works well with my Droid. Its good to know that one specifically for the Droid is coming. Hopefully before 2.1.

+1
iphone and droid are pretty much the same size. Using an iphone case for my droid, same logic should apply to arm bands
Device(s): D1 rooted since 1.22.10 given away, Dinc rooted since 8.16.10 sold ebay,
Droid Pro stock sold eBay,

If the armband comes out this year, it will be out before 2.1.
Because a droid is just too heavy. Tried running with one in your pocket? I sure would like to put all the droid's features to good use running, but can't. It's not a huge deal now, as there is 2 feet of snow on the ground, but come spring...
The thing is... after trying so many different armbands at so many different stores, I'm reluctant to try anything sight unseen. Especially ordering off the internet something that claims "also can fit the Droid."

I ordered this one on ebay for 10.00 bucks.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Update: It's now offered on Amazon and is only $15 (it was $20 before). I don't have it yet, but I am going to order one now.
I bought this one as well, and the droid fits perfectly. I use bluetooth headphones, but the headphone jack on the Droid matches a hole on the armband. The screen works just fine through the plastic/whatever it is.
It worked best for me to put the phone in right-side up, but then put it on my arm so the opening of the case is facing up. This prevents it from falling out (it fits snug but I don't want to take any chances), and I find it easier to read the screen from this position.
I just have to say, thank goodness they're finally coming out with a proper arm band. As someone who works out of the house, I prefer to spend the day free and easy with no clothes on, but since I got my droid, my desire to be connected 24/7 has left me forced to wear sweatpants with a pocket to hold my dear droid on me at all times. This is indeed a tragedy, and an unanticipated consequence of our new hyper connected world. I will no longer bow down to our pocketed overlords. My boys will be free once again.
Praise be to the all powerful spaghetti monster.

Man, if that's not an overshare I don't know what is!
I've been running with my Droid in my pocket, but I started to get worried about jostling it around too much, so I tried wrapping it in a sock. Then I just looked like a moron with a giant sock ball bouncing around in my pocket when I ran.

Thanks. I have one I've been using from my old ipod photo. It zips in, the fit is a bit tight, but there is no way to see screen. Now I'll have to see if there's a Zune bike mount sturdy enough for mountainbiking.
Hopefully this armband will be big enough that your normal case can stay on. I hate the ipod touch arm band because in order to use it you must remove the protective sleeve that you have on it.
I picked up one of these yesterday. How hard did you have to shove to get it to fit? There's no freaking way it will fit in the one I got. Same sku and everything. Taking it back today. I tried a case for the iPod touch as well, same problem, just won't fit.

Actually, it was supposed to drop yesterday at 12 Noon, but then Verizon pulled it from the shipping trucks because there was a bug in the armband (probably something small, like an ant or something). However, a small "test group" of people actually did get the armband. But no release date has been set for the DROID armband.

I'm one of the armband test group people. I can post the armband file online if you want. However, I am at work right now and can't do it from here.

I purchased an iphone armband as well...works great but had to cut another hold in the top as the headphone jack is on the opposite side...cant remember what the thing is called though. I bought it at Best Buy...

Mine fitted like a glove the first time. It was slightly tight but the material was stretchy. After a couple of times, it loosened enough that I could slide it in with minimum effort.
Iphones are almost the same size as a droid. Almost. I've had one for a few months now and I was reasonably happy until today. Mostly I'd been snowshoeing in the dim winter evenings. But today I ran in the bright sunlight. I think because of the slightly different shape, the clear part bubbles up ever so slightly off the screen. The screen is also matte not perfectly clear. I couldn't see a thing. Nothing. That's my only complaint with it. But I'm going to look into the official droid armband because I had to stop and take the thing off my arm to fast forward in Pandora.

You must have gotten lucky. The one I got was about a quarter inch too narrow to even fit the phone in. If the whole phone was as wide as the screen it would have fit okay.
I like the look of those, but the Pouch looks a little small for the droid.. How does that work out for you? Can you put other stuff in there, like keys, drivers license, etc?
edit: Wait.. I was looking at the bands, not the belt. The belt looks roomy enough.
all these designs are way to bulky. Always have been with that huge thick strap, way to much material, often those loop back through the plastic to pull snug systems, velcro.. blah blah
we need Nike to release one like this for the Droid as these are and work awesome! I have one for an iPod of mine. Snug, sized, minimal material, no bulk, stretches, dries fast.

I use a "Tune Belt" brand arm band. Not perfect but it does the job. I'd prefer something waterproof so that I could run in the rain safely with my Droid.
So when is the armband going to debut??????? I need one so I can use my calorie counter app. and when I am working out at the gym. What's the point of all these apps if you can't use them properly without an armband?
