Twice yesterday and once today, my OG Droid has done something really annoying. I will be doing something, even as simple as unlocking the phone. You know when you slide to unlock after you see the clock right there? I did and appeared to work normally until the clock stayed visible but the phone didn't unlock. Instead the phone froze and nothing worked, and the screen went dark as it would if I wasn't using the phone. Only a battery pull fixes it.

I don't want to go to Verizon, because all they will do is a factory reset, and can't I do that myself?

I don't know how to root and rom, and please, thanks but no thanks for any offers to guide me through that via Skype, because my computer randomly gives me blue screens and reboots and is not reliable because it could fail at any time, and as you know not only would that eliminate all communication with the smart person on the other end, but if it happens while flashing a rom I'm in trouble big time!

Help please!?

I've been having similar issues for the past week. I've been uninstalling apps and done a factory reboot.

Mine has has lots of little problems since 2.2.3 came down. Trouble even dialing the phone in addition to the lock ups and black screens.

I can early upgrade now, but the whole g'nex fiasco is simply irritating me to the point that I will wait until my real renew date in Feb and see what kinds of deals amazon will have.
