Default what is the droid missing

Out off all the apps and games what would youfeel is missing? We have all heard "Droid Does" what doesn't it do, that you that you would like it to do. What games would you like to have, what apps are missing? What software is missing?

Personally, I just want more general snappiness all around. Like how the home screens always lag. I don't want to install a home replacement or have to root to get that. Yes, I'm rooted and have BBeast, but a quick home screen should be a stock feature.

A Sirius app.

I transplanted from Blackberry just before their Sirius App came out... which I had been waiting to come out for a while. Now the wait continues.

Better app Devs. Seriously, the iPhone's apps are unmatched and you can't even say otherwise. Like today, I just bought a game on my iPod Touch called Angry Birds, and like always, the interface is top-noctch, everything is colorful and vibrant, smooth, purdy, and the game itself is amazing! Yeah they stole the concept, but it's done so much better. I just wish we could have games like this. I see the games people get excited over on Android and they look like **** and play not much better.

A better camera, the camcorder works wonderfully, but the camera is terrible.

Optimization, I feel that our Graphics chip is going to waste, cause everything is not snappy, not even as snappy on a damn Droid Eris.

FM radio would be nice. I can stream, but when I'm at the gym doing redundant cardio, it would be nice to be able to sync up with the TV's so I can hear what's on.

As far as software, a good music app with equalizer would be nice. Something along the lines of Nitrogen player for WinMo. And while google sync is ok, My Phone from Microsoft is just plain more robust with features and UI.

Last complaint is battery capacity. The Seidio 2600 is an option, but it's a big, UGLY option. Thankfully, 1.2 ghz doesn't hit the battery too much harder than stock 550 mhz does. Stock should have been at least 16-1700 miliamp. It's like having a 5 gallon gas tank in a Porsche 911.

The iPhone comments, really need to stop. If you want an iPhone, go get one. This is Android 2.0, and has been out for how long? And how long has the iPhone been out. Give it a Rest already, give it time.

Droid doesn't do TV-out. It's a shame because I think the video recording on the droid is pretty awesome. I wish I could connect it to my LCD TV.

I'm sorry but it doesn't take "time" to make apps look presentable, that's all on the amount of effort the devs are willing to put into these apps. So get off the bandwagon and realize that we have so much more potential and yet it isn't utilized because the process of putting your app on the market is a joke (which can be a blessing and a curse at the same time

i have no major qualms, the phone is a phone and its doing great at that, more than the iphone can ask for!

more apps are coming daily, i love it!

we are getting 2.1, the camera really can't be fixed much so yeah, i guess a camera that takes in dim light would be good. but not super important

picup is a great flickr/facebook/twitpic etc app, it does them all and it uploads nicely!

We need a "Patience App" that gets installed on every Droid OTA. That way, these threads would all disappear. Other than the camara issue (sorry folks, but mine takes good pics), there isn't an issue on this list that time won't fix.

And like it's been stated, the iPhone has been out for how long? I'm sure their forums had these threads a few years back. Or did they? iPhone owners seems to be more grateful than Droid owners, from my experience.

I have no complaints with my camera either. But having said that I think it works better with Camera Zoom FX.

I would really like to see a direct voice command dial by tapping your ear peice and telling it to dial...

2.1 isn't something we can do much about. An equalizer for music would be killer, I use my phone for streaming music and as an mp3 player, in my car and at home ran thru the headphone jack. Sometimes the bass output is far too high. As for needing better app devs, we need less time being put towards pointless apps. Apps that aren't graphical were probably made by a dev who is more about getting code correct than making it pretty. If you feel that you could make a better looking gui then email the dev. I have seen people want better games, what kind of games? As for streaming tv, I use an app that works great for me, tv.com. true its not all the channels I like but when I have some time to kill it does the job. I hope this helps.

An easy-to-access Phone Only mode would be nice. It might be there...I have not yet found it, nor have I found a app for it.

For me, whats missing is security. I have downloaded Mobile Defense, but it can be uninstalled. What I would like to see from google is this:

An app that allows a user to track it online, lock it, etc that cannot be uninstalled, and would automatically turn on the GPS. And when the phone is locked, you cannot turn it off, and would automatically start tracking on boot, and maby to be able to turn it over to local PD if its stolen? Just an idea, but it would make me feel better

rooting your phone is way better than any 2.1 OTA. all the roms out there pretty much have everything that 2.1 is going to bring to us and much more. not to mention being able to overclock. 2.1 wont be able to do that.

How about support for Wireless N, plus FM radio support, and a completely open 2.1 that we can do whatever we want with?

Native support for Flash and FLAC as well would be kewl.

I would like the stock home to be able to rotate to landscape without opening the keyboard.

I would like the phone feature of the phone to be improved. The face sensor seems to be quirky~ it blanks out the screen so as to not mute it with your cheek, yet, i constantly put people on mute, and the screen is not on the current call screen, but goes to the call log page.. so i have to quickly bring up the screen, go to the right page, return to call in progress, unmute, all while hearing the pther person say "hello, hello are you there?" the few who know the problem wait for me, but most hang up thinking i got disconnected
i dont know why this is happening!

better battery life too, but what can you really get with a smartphone.. its always being used !

I'd like the GPS to work without cellular network. I had my phone in an area without CDMA coverage. GPS could not lock.
Better map caching when networks (either cellular or wifi) are not available

I have only owned my MotoDroid for a few weeks, coming from a Blackberry. I am totally impressed, having used sevaral PPC and smartphones since the Samsung i700. I

have one request: I ride a motorcycle and have my phone tapped into my intercom system via the wired jack. I'd like to see an auto-answer app, as I can't do the slide-answer thing with gloved hands. I suppose I could cut a fingrertip off on my left hand, but the aforementioned auto-answer would be preferrable.

Default Cursor Movement

I'm stunned at how crappy Android handles cursor positioning on the touch screen. Either that or I'm a dufus and haven't figured it out.

Need to insert a word a few words back? Or modify an existing word? So, lets move the cursor to the point where we need to insert text. Android forces you to tap multiple times until you get the cursor where it needs to be. Kinda like whack-a-mole.

Versus iPhone where you press and hold, and a little magnifier pops up allowing you to smoothly move the cursor to the exact point in the sentence or word. I think even Storm 2 on Blackberry handles it in some fashion.

Am I missing something?

I would to see there be a wider customization for notification tones. VM vs Text vs Pic msg. Additionally, I'd like to see dedicated notification tones for specific contacts in my address book.

AGREED....cursor realigning is not handled well and more than a few times in frustration I've had to slide the keyboard out. I understand the long press is for context menus but maybe something like......

One tap: take you between full words
Double tap: places cursor exactly where you tap

Would rock!

I definitely agree with a lot of other posts and their upgrades/things they like to see, but for me I would like to see spell check. I know when you use the virtual keyboard it helps finish the word for you which eliminates the need, but I prefer the dedicated keyboard.

Ignorance must really be bliss.

What's the currently installed user base for the iPhone compared to the user base for Android 2.0 devices? If you were a developer, which would you put time and effort into?

This isn't a conspiracy, or laziness on dev's parts, it's simple business. You put effort into the largest available market, and right now, that's the iphone. As more and more people own android devices, the applications will come.

Better map caching when networks (either cellular or wifi) are not available

Trimble Outdoors in the Market has your solution covered. There are a few other options for offline maps as well, but Trimble is the most user-friendly.

The D-pad on the slider works pretty slick for me. But as I tend to use Swype, I rarely find a need for it at all.

There isn't one. FM radio reception isn't enabled on our Droids, although the capability is supposedly there on the chip. There are some devs working on a way to switch it on.

I Heart Radio is an app by Clear Channel that allows you to stream the stations they own.

I think a better camera, yeah you could say it's 5MP but in anything less then perfect conditions it's horrible.
