Default Droid life expectancy

I thinking of buying a used droid that's 2 years old. I'm a bit worried about how long it will last me. Any thoughts?

First, I don't know what you are looking at for price range, but the classified (androidforums.com/classifieds/) section here may give you some comfort in the price range for a used OG Droid.

As far as the device goes, it will depend on your expectations. I had two OG Droids. One of them was my wife's everyday phone (daily driver) until November 2011. The battery still held all day for her and it was really a solid phone. It has since been restored to factory as a linux buddy of mine wanted to learn about android and wanted to start from scratch.

The second one was my daily driver until my 4yr old dropped it and the screen wouldn't work, the insurance replacement was a D2 . Six months later I pulled it out of the drawer, without charging it, and on a whim tried powering it on and it worked , and now it is still in use by my 4yr old and he plays several current games on it.

As far as your own expectations for the phone, I wouldn't expect it to play all of the latest and greatest games or be as snappy as a friends current generation phone.
