CF is the shizzz.. I have 5 CF bikes, rings I am a CF junkie. Stuff is strong enough - great strength to weight ratio - you are not going to damage it. They use it on the Shuttle, cars, bikes, planes... no worries on it shattering.
anyone got the details to the cheaper model?
this would be cool if they did a 12k weave

Not to hijack, but can anyone recommend a cover that has a screen protector with it? I hate paying 20 for cover and another 13 for sticky screen covers.
I have to wonder why you would choose Carbon Fiber of all materials for a cell phone case that's supposed to protect the device from falls and other shock:
"Carbon fiber is very strong when stretched or bent, but weak when compressed or exposed to high shock" (Wikipedia)
Why are you planning on stretching or bending your cell phone case?
Though I suspect it's all for the "sexiness" factor of carbon ______. That's all you hear about nowadays. Carbon fiber, carbon nanotubes, it never ends...

because in this usage, it will be just fine. trust me. if you can crash a bike going 30+ MPH and not damage it, dropping your phone with a CF case will be just fine.
your taking those quotes out of proper context.
one of the benefits of CF, in bikes for example, is it dampens shock. So the "high shock" you quote here is not relative to a dropped phone case.. it would be relative to maybe a thrown against the concrete phone case.

Hmm, alright, I see. Thanks for clearing that up to me. There just wasn't any real context in that paragraph I read on Wikipedia. Teaches me to read only the introduction to the Wiki page before I post something about it, I guess.

anyone can post on Wiki.. and post anything they want really
Real carbon fiber is not cheap. I would bet anything this is just a CF print. Not real CF.
no, ya think?
BUT.... if they can crank out in volume, and it comes out of Asia, where most all of the CF bike parts come out of, you would be surprised how cheap they can make them.. way cheaper than the OP's original post price.. way cheaper. the real big cost is often the mold.

Well yeah, but it's generally cleared up so quickly because of changelogs that the chances that you loaded up the page before someone changed whatever vandalism someone else posted is incredibly small. One time I DID come across a page with vandalism on it and I refreshed it five minutes later and it was gone.

I would think so too, but look at the price of the pre-made phone cases. They aren't as comparatively cheap as I would have expected.

vandalism is one thing, just incomplete thoughts or comments without context are another

their volume is low no doubt.
look at something like a CF seat post for a bike. all things being similar - size and amount of CF used, you can buy a high end CF post by a well known brand nearly as cheap as these cases... why? volume is a big part of it.
I just got an email from INFINITY CARBON...it said that if we could get 10 guys that want their CF Case...they would give us 20% discount along with free shipping...let's get the list started guys...

How about girls? I don't want to be the only one though, that would sunder my reputation...
looks nice, but I hope you only drop it on its back. a 1 sided case make no sense to me.. especially at that price. good for them for willing to deal, but I just dont se the value of a 1 sided case and your talking to a guy that wants a CF wedding ring = I love CF.

its not a 1 piece case my friend...got an updated email from INFINITY CARBON. this CF Case is a 2 piece...they haven taken their time to design this case really well...if some of you had the body glove case you remember that every time you slid the key board out the screen would rise about 1mm in height...well this is not the case with INFINITY CARBON's design...
come on guys we need 7 or more members who want this case to get the 20% discount and free shipping to your door step...
a carbon case is in my future for sure. but $120 or $60... easy choice for me as both will be similar as only so many ways to skin that cat. if both use CF, hard to swallow one for 2x the price. both have photos of their work and it looks clean and similar so...
either way, neither has one for the Droid just yet, but the one I linked to has photos of the process and it is for the Droid and is clearly coming soon. So, I would say they are farther down the road + less cost + might have a top piece as well as the back cover = better deal it seems

Yes, very soon. The first one is possibly shipping today. I certainly want to see it and wouldn't mind saving a bit of money. Getting the case that we're talking about in this thread at twice the price would hinge on 10 of us getting in on it. I am speculating to see if 10 people can be gotten more readily than this case goes into wide distribution.
I agree with you and I am eager to see either case at this point. With my NE2 burning slowly away, if I spend a decent amount of money on an awesome case, I want to get as much time with awesome phone + awesome case before the next phone woos me away.
I got my Droid for $150... a $120 case isn't going to happen with me. That other case is like $62 OTD for 1 piece (back) and they even mention same price for one with the top stick on CF piece to dress it up.
anyway, only time will tell if they actually come through. They certainly do make it seem like more effort than one would think to make such a simple - relatively speaking in terms of all the CF products I own - product as just the clip on back.
