3G down on Droid???
It looks like 3G is down for only Droids! How could this be? Any ideas?
I had emails from this morning when I got up at 5 AM EST but when I tried listening to a podcast on my way to work about 30 minutes later I had no 3G.

Yep, it seems to be out. Thread going on at droid forums confirms call to Verizon, reporting nationwide 3G outages.

*PHEW* What a relief to know I'm not the only one. I thought that maybe the OTA had come out and it was conflicting with my phone's root.
No 3G AT ALL here in Atlanta and I don't have WiFi in my home.

However, all's well in Houston... for now, at least.

None in Cleveland either.
Funny thing is I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't read this thread. (At work btw, not on my phone, obviously.)

Well, not only do I not have 3G, but anything that uses a data connection is not functioning, not even at 1X speed. Any apps that require updating over the air are telling me "no data available," and the browser says that it does not have a connection at all. Is that normal? I think coverage is pretty good in my area, so I may have just never been without a 3G connection.
Calls work at least.
Edit: I forgot to mention, next to my signal strength in the notification bar, there is no 1X (or any other) icon telling me which network I'm on.

Probably not as the contract you signed states that they will not have 100% uptime.

Re: 3G down on Droid???
If your 3G isn't running, here's the solution: dial *228 and select option 1. It turns out that re-programming your phone brings the 3G back, it did for me at least. Hope this helps!

Seems Houston is ok as well, but i will say that even though i "have" 3G (icon), it's definitely been throttled down or something as part of fix/troubleshooting because my measured speed (several tests, several servers in the region) is quite low compared to usual:
Down: 472 kbps
Up: 696 kbps

What the hell . Have you tried taking the battery out while the phone's on, resetting it, dialing *228 option 1, and having the phone reset after that?

3G is working good here in northeast/north central Massachusetts, I have been in Greenfield, Erving, Orange, Athol, Gardner, Leominster (commuting to work haha) and I had 3G the whole way.

Did you read the thread? It's not a phone issue...it's a network issue affecting much of the country.
