I don't have a custom rom loaded but am rooted. I get some cellular cosmogony app anytime I type Helix. Oh well, looks like I'll put a custom rom on first and see.

Dude its worth it. I like that i can put icons right next to the bottom launcher so the front homescreen looks very clean. Reminds me of my pre with the icons there.
Im running Simply Stunning 2.02, will this work with my current setup? Also can i just install it with apk installer app?

I got this off of the market but any shortcut i put on the screen forcecloses when i try to open it. works fine from the bar on the bottom or through the app drawer though. any suggestions?
Does the market filter results based on firmware version?
You can go to your /system folder find the build.prop and edit it(using root explorer or pulling it then editing it on your pc then pushing it back..Restart. Look for 2.0.1 and rename it to just 2.1 or some say change this line (ro.build.version.sdk=6) to (ro.build.version.sdk=7) That should enable you to see it if its for 2.1 only. ROOT ONLY option. Restart phone and nandroid backup before doing this.

Did anyone notice that when you rotate the small icons at the bottom switch sides. So the icons that were on the left end up on the top when in landscape mode? That is the only weird thing so far. Other than that I really like the ability to keep the home screen clean looking as someone else said.

I have the same issue. Can't launch apps from shortcuts.

I found easily on the market and I haven't had any problems (so far), including the above-quoted. I absolutely LOVE this home replacement (especially with the smoked glass theme). I just hope it doesn't start wonking out on me and FC'ing.

Haven't had this problem either. Does it make a difference if you're rooted or not? I'm on 2.1 via Pete's BB ESE53 v0.8
Anybody else not have the drawer tab up top to close the launcher after its been opened? For me it kinda just disappears in the Notification tray bar. Not having any other FC issues or app launching problems, but not being able to slide the launcher back down physically is a big deal-breaker for me.

Are the people that are experiencing FC's overclocked past 1ghz? I'm on BB v0.8 but I'm not overclocked (running at 550mghz). Maybe there's a conflict with certain kernels depending on the number of slots? I only say this because I've seen where certain kernels seemed to have conflicted with certain programs. Just a hunch.

I'm at 1.2 on Chevy's SS 2.0.2 with Adamz low voltage 1.2 kernel.. been using this launcher for over a day now and not had any FC issues with it. I grabbed it from the xda site, so couldn't respond to market issues.
EDIT: Went into a FC loop with HL2. Trying HL1 now.
BTW, if you go into a FC loop, you don't have to pull a battery (if you didn't set HL2 as default). Just hit home again before it crashes and it'll pop up the "choose default" option. Then hit home again and select it.
EDIT: HL1 is working fine for me. Think I'll stick with that one. I love the docking!

Awesome launcher. Much faster than home++ for me and, so far, fewer FCs.
However, is there any way to hide the notification bar without root? I want to use beautiful widgets for weather/time/date, but not if I have to look at the stock temp/time as well.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.. But my droid is rooted and I'm running Pete's ESE53 v.08. I downloaded the launcher from the market and installed it, but I don't have the option to open it. Do I have to have something else installed to use this? Thanks for your help!

if it installed go to manage apps-> filter all-> launcher or home (whichever is you are using) -> then click clear defaults, next time u hit home it should give u the option of using helix launcher

I was using Launcher+ but just tried out Helix and it works amazing. I feel like my entire phone works much faster than it did with the stock home or Launcher+. Very awesome app! I am running stock 2.01
