Still $50 for current customers. i paid $215 for a droid in feb. Kinda wish i would have waited.

Bought my Droid a few weeks back for the $49.99 price and I didnt think Amazan would go any lower. Thought about calling and seeing if they would credit me the $25 since I am still within my 30 days but I dont think they have that kind of policy.

Definitely a GREAT deal for someone still sitting on the fence about the Droid. The much cheaper price on Amazon played a major factor in my decision to join Verizon and buy a droid at its its $49.99 price a few weeks back. No was was I going to pay $199 at a local verizon store.

The retail verizon stores are hard up for sales, I had them price match the best buy price the day the droid came out and still got my 100 rebate. They are bendable if you are strong, but...I HATE the new verizon retail stores and their sign in, and the whole experience. Online is the way to go for hermits like me!

I just got off the phone with them since I bought my Droid last Wednesday, They said today was the last day to get the price difference refunded so I got my $25 back. Helluvadeal when you consider Vzw is still selling it for $200... 87% off!

No longer $49.99 for current customers... It is now $74.99. They must think the 2.1 update has added some value to the phone.

I was in the same boat as you. Called Amazon today and they refunded the $25 difference. So like you, the Droid will end up only costing me $25 when is is said and done.

Would I be able to upgrade (for $75) one of my lines and put the phone on a different line? I do it all the time with Blackberries but I didn't really understand that extra Google fee and the fine print on Amazon.

Thanks!

I dont think so. The line you open when you buy the phone, it has to stay on that line or you'll get charged the $250 Amazon fee. I can't be sure of this but I sure wouldn't risk it...

Thanks! After some research, it appears that you can switch as long as you activate it to the line it was purchased for, and then switch.

I'm going to call up Wirefly instead since their prices appear a bit better and see what they say.

Damn, that's a steal.

I paid $199 for mine, and given the choice of phones available today, I'd gladly pay it again for a root-able Android 2.0 device with a physical keyboard.

Three friends of mine have already taken the plunge on this. I wonder what Verizon corporate stores think of super low prices like this? Maybe they dont have an opinion? Would love to know though

One of the guys said if he were me he would just go that route too. "No sense in paying $300 up front for a phone to wait for only $100 of it to come back when you can drop $25 and get the same exact phone." He cautioned me though to make sure it was a legit website.

Anyways, my phone is ordered and expected delivery date is on Tuesday the 23rd!

Congrats!!!!! Have been enjoying mine for the last 2 weeks. When I bought mine, it was still $49.99 but after a very polite call to amazon CS yesterday, $25 was refunded to my account. I wonder how many people have been buying the droid from amazon as of late? Anyhow, enjoy your new Droid!

I just took the plunge with Amazon. Wirefly.com didn't impress me, they wanted $150 for a secondary line upgrade. Anyway, my Amazon order is now confirmed.

The Droid is supposed to be delivered to my work next Tuesday, and I'm planning on (after activating it to the line with the upgrade) switching it onto my husband's line a few minutes before he leaves work. He'll probably be panicky about getting a canned Verizon message when he tries to call me. Then when he gets home I can act all concerned and suggest I dial his number and then the cabinet will start ringing with a present inside

The other thing you have to aggree to is that you won't cancel the contract. If you do, they will bill you $250 for the phone (since they won't get paid, or will be penalized by Verizon)...

Your fine if you plan on sticking with VZW for a while (like my friend is)...

I actually think is perfectly acceptable for Amazan to have this policy. I still cant belive I got this phone for $24.99 when its still $199 at verizon
