2.1 Release Day! Post Here If You Got It!
I want to trend the droid 2.1 release to see if it's being released by geographic location, state, SID, etc. So as the title says post here once you get the update notice and if you don't mind put in what city, state, and area code your phone is from. Not necessarily where you are physically located.

We established last time (2.0.1) that updates are distributed randomly and have no pattern based omg geographic location, area code, or any serial number.

Yeah, unfortunately only 1,000 will get it today... Here is the official schedule:
Software Schedule: Below is the software-upgrade notification schedule (All times listed are Eastern Time.): At noon on 3/18, 1,000 users will receive notification of the update. At 11:59 PM on 3/18, 9,000 more users will receive the update notification. After the first 10,000 users receive the update on 3/18, there will be a 24-hour period when no additional upgrades will be delivered. On Day 3 (3/20), 200,000 users will receive the update notification at 11:59 PM. This schedule will continue each day thereafter until the update has been delivered to all users.

The information you posted says that 10,000 people will get it today. Did you even read it?

Yea but essentially they would be getting it tomorrow...1 min does not realistically classify it as today imo.

Somebody better save the update.zip file! My guide to force installing it is ready.. all I'm waiting for is the file. I have 2 servers set up to host the file as well. Please PM as soon you get it. I will then provide you with my email address so you can send me the file.

Yeah I know if it comes through at 11:59pm on my Droid I wont see it til tomorrow... Not waiting up all night (No offense I know some may) but I gotta work bright and early

You can do it over stock 2.01 rooted and it will just unroot you. If you have a custom rom installed, do NOT install the update. It will corupt your phone, most likely.

Damn, I want this UPDATE, well I only want it becauase of the live wallpapers(those will be so sick) and the face that we are 1 step closer to getting the flash update. I am going to go off once we get this!!!!
Does anyone know anything about the flash update? Other then what we already know (mid-summer release)
