Default Resetting my phone and losing apps on Card

I am sure this is a dumb question but I am having download trouble with wifi and thinking of resetting my phone. Will every app I have downloaded be lost if I first move them to my memory card?

I have strong wifi signal (one foot from router) but I get "download paused" and "network error" a lot. I have tried the market cache clear and many other fixes but no luck. I have two droids and the grandkids use them for games. One works perfect the other gives me fits. No data plan on either phone.

ps Should I mount the sd card and move them to my pc before the reset?

If you reset (as in Factory Data Reset), even if you move them to he SDCard they will be lost b/c the links to the apps on the SDCard will be erased. The apps may still be there physically on your SDCard, but your DROID will not know how to use them.

If you have the DROID set to sync your apps with your Google account, as soon as you log in, you should be able to let the market start downloading the apps again.

If you have a large number of apps, I recommend using a backup program to back them up instead of moving them to the SDCard.

Alternatively, you could use my (very old) method of manually backing up the apps to your computer and then reinstall them later. However, this will not work for any app that has automatically moved itself to the SDCard, and it will not work for system apps, and it will not work for apps you've moved to system (assuming you're rooted) and it may not work for some other apps randomly.
