Default Moto i1 update

I use to have the google G1 phone and the Os wasn't as laggy and had many more features, just wondering if i could upate the firmware on this 1.5 Android? New to this phone and it's been a while since i've dealt with Android, please bare with me... any assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, sorry to say that there is no perspective of this Android version getting any updates. Only a few rumors flew around the internet, but nothing concrete was said about it until now.
