Unhappy Slow and Laggy

I've recently noticed that my milestone is becoming slower and slower. It's always freezing and takes ages to do anything. I've not installed anything recently and I've removed pretty much all widgets and applications I don't need, but its not any better. I'm having to reboot it 2-3 times a day to do anything. I've also noticed that there's constant data being transferred which might be slowing it down, but I've not changed any settings so don't know what might be causing that.

Is there anything I can do? I haven't tried a reset cos I don't want to lose my apps and settings again, but I'm considering it.

Maybe install a monitoring app that will see what is going on. Also in dialer try the code *#*#4636#*#* and go into battery history.

I've tried the battery history thing, but it doesn't really show anythin weird. What monitoring software do you mean? CPU monitoring?
