Default ADHOC wifi connection problem

Dear mates,

I noticed on my Motorola Milestone 2.1, that ADHOC networks doesn't appear on the regular wifi settings , I cannot connect to my laptop for internet sharing (notebook to phone)

Anyone noticed this problem or is it me ?

Cheers,

I used my Milestone to tether for a few weeks back in February and it worked fine on my PC.

Found this after some brief web surfing... if you're rooted and willing to poke around a little looks like you can hard-wire a adhoc network connection. Haven't tested myself but plan to do so soonish.

Link is no longer valid, but the guide had been mirrored here : How to connect an android phone to your ad-hoc wi-fi network | Wissam Idrissi

Unfortunately this guide doesn't work for my Milestone and I've not seen anyone with a Milestone managing to connect to an AdHoc WiFi network, so frustrating!
