Default why no touchless control on moto g?

It's available on the moto x. Just wondering if there is a hardware limitation preventing it from installing on the moto g.

I found an app with similar functionality called open mic +.

I can imagine that touchless control is one of the many features that Moto had to cut to reach this price. From what of Open Mic+ I've used, it's pretty good.
No complaints here.

I thought it was relying on one of the cores in the Droids and Moto X always being on and monitoring for the sound of your voice.

In addition, because the Moto X has an AMOLED display, it uses less battery life and is able to display just the quick info more easily.
