Hey guys I just joined this site and I recently also purchased a photon and I am simply loving it!
Here's my home screen:
I am using: Launcher 7, Battery Circle and Screen Grabber
Here's my Application list:
Refer to the aforementioned as to what I am using!
And heres my lockscreen:
Over here I am using Windows Lockscreen. I enjoy this app, but on thr scale of 1-5 I'd prrsonally rank it a four because of the lack of customization, overall howrver; it is quite well done!
This is my second android, I had to deal with the very crappy Samsun Moment for the past two years!
And to top everything off; I creatrd this post with my Photon!!
New to the forums, gonna post my screes, but first a dumb question. Ummm... how do I post them? Copy and paste didn't work. Do I need to create an album on the site first, than use the insert image button?
Device(s): SG Note 2 Sprint (Grey) and International (White), & MoPhoQ Sprint
Carrier: Sprint & Unlocked GSM

Thanks!
There are a couple ways to post up the screen shots, once you've taken them.
1) Click on Reply or Quote and scroll down to the "Additional Options" area below the area in which you are posting your reply.
2) A separate window will come up and you'll be able to choose the image file from wherever you've saved it to on your computer (or phone, if you're posting through the phone browser)
3) Once you've chosen the image file, click on Upload
OR
Upload the picture onto a photo hosting website (e.g. Flickr, Photobucket) and then copy the direct image link. When you're typing your response, use the Picture toggle (above the reply box) and it'll ask for the URL. Paste the URL you copied from the hosting website and click OK.
My customization is mostly done with Launcher Pro and Folder Organizer, with a few other widgets thrown in.
Below is my main home screen. I have LP set to 3 scrolling docks, this gives me one press access to my most used apps no matter what screen I'm actually on.
Time and temp is Beautiful Widgets. You may notice 2 different temperature readings in the notification bar. I'm currently testing different weather apps to see which one I like best; those are Accuweather and My Cast.
Battery indicator is Circle Battery Widget.

Left 1 and 2: L1 is my games sorted by genre. L2 is my personal stuff. The third screen shot is what my multimedia folder looks like when it is open (for those who don't use Folder Organizer).

I've been meaning to post this for awhile... I did it over a weekend when I decided to learn the rudiments of Tasker. The icons are all Tasker widgets running Tasker scripts or simply holding shortcuts to installed apps.
I've always liked my mobile devices clean and uncluttered, hence the "generic" appearance of these. I've posted two screenshots, because the top row of icons change their colors and labels depending on their status.
The icon set is "2MetroStation" by Yanko Andreev (who does some VERY nice work!) and can be found at yankoa on deviantART
Explanations (icon by icon, reading as you would a book):
Screen brightness in 20% increments (overridden by auto backlight icon)
Wi-fi toggle (text label and color change accordingly)
GPS toggle (same as wi-fi)
Auto backlight toggle (overrides screen brightness set by first icon)
Launches Dish Network Remote Access (live TV)
Launches Scanner Radio Pro
Launches Motorola music
Launches Waze
Launches GPS Test Plus
Launches Wi-Fi Enabled Radio Thermostat (controls my home HVAC)
Launches DroidLight
Launches RealCalc Plus
Launches Google Voice (my voicemail provider)
Launches Gmail (duh!)
Launches Motorola text msgs
Launches Nuance voice commands app
Bottom row (dock) is standard Dialer, Email, Browser, and Apps Launcher apps
I can perform nearly any common task with this setup plus the short and long press on the magnifying glass button (Google Search and Voice Search, respectively) and the camera button. When I set up my Droid RAZR Maxx on Verizon, it will look exactly like this.
EDIT: I forgot to add that I created the grey icons by editing in PhotoShop Elements (the MetroStation sets are only provided in black, white, and blue).

Each operating system has its ups and downs in terms of features, access, etc.
While Android does not have native screenshot except Version 4.0+, it has way more customization than iOS.

Actually, I just found out that's not true. My best friend just joined the Android family by purchasing the HTC Vivid on ATT. He was able to get a screenshot the same exact way that he did on his iPhone (somthing with holding the power button and tapping the home key?).
Unfortunately, seems like it's not a function that's native to Motorola phones. I tried it on my phone and it was a no go...LOL.
How did you compare to other dual core phones though? Unless I read that completely wrong those all appeared to be single core phones with stock software.

Galaxy Nexus scores in the 2200 range.
Droid Bionic scores in the 2300 range.
Droid Razr scores in the 2750 range.
Galaxy S II scores in the 3750 range.
My Photon is consistently hitting 4500, best ever was 4940.
I may have to do this as well, I'm just going to wait until a really stable version of CM9 with everything working is out. Besides the rom are you running a custom kernel?

I swap between 3 roms depending on what I'm looking for: Rocko, CM9 (ICS) and CM7.2. Rocko is very stable, fast with the most unbelievable battery life. CM9 is still alpha so camera does not work and battery life is about equal to stock. CM7.2 is fast, stable, good on battery and tops for customization.
Once you find a few you like you can create backups of them and literally restore (change) between several roms at a moments notice regardless of where you are.
At the moment I'm running CM7.2 with a custom kernel made by the Photon dev Joker (not the custom kernel CM7.2 flashes with) which allows for 1.4 OC. It makes a sick combo for performance.
Also once you unlock and root you can find your MSL code and delete Sprint's proxy codes and get WAY FASTER 3G speeds (did I say WAY FASTER).
One draw back is that unlocking breaks 4G but I don't have it in my location anyway. The devs are working on a 4G fix... won't be long.

I visit XDA on occasion, got the PRO version of the app to support the cause(only $1.00),but,not on there as much as here.
The 4G fix is what I've been holding out for,as it (4G) works great in my area.
Was also curious as to if docking options are working on any of these ROMS?

Doc does work for some not others. Some require special fixes as well but it is possible.

I was the same way. If you are serious about unlocking/rooting you need to watch QBKing's youtube tutorials about unlocking, rooting, flashing roms and installing clockworkmod several times just to see how some of this stuff is done. Hardest part is unlocking... also XDA is full of very helpful people and you'd do well to read the first 5 to 10 pages on some of the Photon rom threads in the forums. You'll soak up a lot of general knowledge by doing so. It is intimidating at first but once it is done flashing roms is very easy and rewarding/fun.

Great info, does that custom kernel work better with any of your roms? Or does it seem to work equally well with all of them? I'm pretty set on going CM9 though.

There is 1 developer who builds all different kinds of kernels, Joker. Kernels are rom specific so you can't use 1 with just any rom. He has a thread on xda with all the kernels he has built and tells you which roms they go with.

I like this even better than the video live wallpaper because I prefer just having highlights that can be shown on a gif vs. a video. Probably takes up less battery than the video live wallpaper app also.
The top of the screen is from Beautiful Widgets I chose the Beautiful Home Weather with the following choices:
Clock Skin: Papyrus
Weather Skin: Brushed Ink Black
Font on lower left: Red adjusted to match the fish
Hide Background checked
Background Transparency: checked 100% transparent
Google weather service
I like it. I used the theme's icons. I allowed the Waze app to have its own icon.

Sprint and Motorola have teamed up to bring us the Motorola Photon 4G, the carrier's first international handset with Android. It's a 4.3 inch powerhouse with its dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and more.
