Default downloaded ring tones

I downloaded some ringtones from Zedge last night and can not figure out how to use them. I know if I click on one of them I can assign it to all o fmy incoming calls. is there a way to assign different downloaded ring tones to different contacts?

You can assign different ringtones to individual contacts through your Contact Manager. Select the contact you want to add a ringtone for, then hit your menu button, and then choose options.

Did you download them through an app or did you just download them to the phone? Coming from Windows Mobile, prior to my EVO last year, I didn't realize that the ringtones had to be placed in specific types of folders in order for them to be recognized.

Take a look at this thread I had started a while back. It should help you and many others that want to create your own ringtones and be able to have the phone identify them right away:
How to set up the MoPho with your own ringtones (as well as for future Android phones)...
