hi, has anyone received a software update on their device? i have read online of 2 people getting an update... but only 2. i believe both those people had fully stock systems and locked bootloaders, but on every other device i've had, that didn't effect the availability of an update(installing it is a different story).

i am just wondering if there is an update rolling out or what. or if perhaps it could have been pulled due to bugs. can't find any documentation on it other than those 2 people who said they received it. i've been checking in settings/system updates on my device, but nothing so far. if anyone has received it, i would also be interested to know whether their bootloader is locked or unlocked. thx!

well, i went on chat with Sprint, and they said there is currently no such update! i was talking to one guy in a couple forum posts who seems to have definitely gotten an update, so maybe they released it and quickly pulled it? the guy in the forum says it might be a bit buggy but maybe not too bad:

I have an update notice on my phone but do not wish to be the guinea pig if it is buggy. Has anyone else installed it yet?

What do you know, I just got the update notice myself! If you wanna sit tight, I will install it and check it out. I have unlocked bootloader, so I can always revert to the current software if it too buggy.

someone over at XDA is saying it looks from the update zip that a lot things are being patched!

Got my update request just now... However, I have bootloader and root which causes the update to fail. It repeatedly reboots after fail.

Warning! Don't update your phone if you have bootloader and/or root.

I need to back out the root and see if the update will go through.
The updates from link sound like good updates.

Yeah, I went thru a fairly convoluted process to install the update(I'm yogi2010 over there, there could be an easier way depending on your setup):

OK, after some research, I stopped the rebooting by using the "delete cache" and reboot option during update.
