I've been gone for a month, but I wanted to come back and say my official goodbye to this great forum thread (or what's left of it . The Triumph was my first introduction into prepaid data service and I must say that without the development done here, it would have been a horrible introduction indeed. For anyone who is new to the Triumph/this thread I would highly recommend g60s final build of CM7 or TG Reloaded Final with Mantera's TheOC Kernel. And, of course, any version of ICS if a fix is ever found for the camera!
I'm now using a Samsung Vibrant on Straight Talk. I'll more than likely come back to Virgin Mobile if I get a good deal on one of the newer phones. Hopefully the Triumph-androidforums quality dev communities will follow Virgin Mobile phones in the future...

Good luck Garrmack. I know from personal experience when you switch phones, it tends to leave you feeling a little disjointed for a while. Until you make new friends on another forum that is! Life is about personal growth, and about learning new things. Enjoy your Samsung! We'll be here if you decide to visit again. Good luck.
You'll be missed my man! Enjoy the phone! It's to bad you didn't take a ride on MTDEV-CM7 it's simply night and day to g60 style, GPS actually works now

Anyway, thanks again everyone!
Any trouble porting your number from VM to Straight Talk? I sometimes toy with the idea of buying a GSM Galaxy Nexus & running it on ST...

Actually, I ported my number from VM to Google Voice. This way I can 'park' my number and switch providers without worrying about saving my number. It took 2 or 3 days for it to port.
I wanted to get a Nexus, but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. The Vibrant has a really good version of ICS that I'm running. It's not as snappy as a Nexus would be, but its still a very pleasing UI experience.

That makes sense, never looked into Google Voice. I like the idea of getting "pure" Android straight from Google with the Nexus, but it is a pretty large phone compared even to the Triumph which might take some getting used to. Sometimes I dream of a better phone & better service.

You guys r so smart, I wanna root my phone and install MTDEV-CM7 but i'm an idiot when it comes to technology and very afraid I might screw up my triumph for good. Is there a step by step visual youtube video you can recommend for me to learn how to Root and installing MTDEV-CM7 and any other recommended Roms on to my Triumph?

The biggest issue with Straight Talk is their constantly changing target of what's acceptable data usage. They don't come out and clearly define it but there are numerous posts of people who were suspended for using over 100 mb a day or 1 gig a month and by the time that they received the warning it was too late. Plus they don't just suspend your data but your whole account. Guess that's why it's called Straight Talk and not Straight Data.
