Is there any other way to connect my phone to TV or Monitor?

So heres the problem, I have a HDMI cable but I don't have a HD tv with HDMI. Is there anyway to connect my phone to a old TV or to a Computer monitor to watch things on? I don't think a computer monitor would work bc there would be not sound but does anybody have any suggestions?

You can get an hdmi to VGA converter for your monitor and you can also find hdmi to SD/AV with a left and right audio output. Should be less than $50 or so for either one.
