Think waiting until the Spring tablet boom is going to pay off...have fun, early adopters!
Lol. I'm not sure if this is a sarcastic statement or not. But I'm glad that there are early adopters. This is a good thread to let us know what to expect if we buy the Xoom now.
Can all of you early adopters edit your posts or start a new thread if there are updates on some of the apps that aren't working when they start working.
Thanks again.

I didn't get any notification of any updates... just checks the marketplace as well and ddnt see anything... where did you notice the updates?
Marketplace -> My Apps
It will show what needs updating on that screen. Then again, sorry, I'm using a droid x, but I would think that gmail would be universal for all phones.
thats how updates are handled. it takes a couple shakes of a lambs tale for updates to reach everyone. just because i may see an update today does not necessarily mean you will see it too at the same time...
Does Wallpaper Set and Save work? Also, can you create and modify Microsoft Office documents using the default browser and Skydrive (Microsoft Web Apps)?

need to add titanium backup and shoot me to the list for rooted users. at first i thought that it was't properly rooted but rom manager has no complaint about not having root access although there is not a curretly distributed version of clockwork mod or roms for it to test that out on.
Seesmic not working for me, unfortunately. It starts, but hangs and FCs before I can get to the screen where you enter login information. Tried to alert the developer, but they don't make that easy, either.
FYI, and I'm not sure anyone cares since no one ever replied to my message about it, but, Trillian has been updated with Honeycomb fixes. I can now sign in on the Xoom. VERY happy now.

The Everquest II Companion doesn't work. The login button does not exist for some reason.

Thanks for the update. I don't have a Xoom (yet, but VERY interested) and I use Trillian ALL the time. I was going to suggest visiting their site to post the incompatibility if you hadn't posted that they fixed it.

I'm using the update right now and it's working great. Very pleased.

Yay! If you find any other tablet-related issues in Trillian's Android version, please toss it into our bug tracker. Right now our focus is on pulling the 'continuous client' support into all our various versions (WHEE TOO MANY BUILDS), but we still want to get any tablet-related quirks flagged and dealt with as quickly as possible.

Now that's some service! I used Trillian all day to talk to my wife at work and it worked flawlessly. Notifications, etc, all working great. I *SOOOO* want the continuous client update, so, when you get that out I am going to be incredibly happy. One freaky thing I'll report in your tracker is the sign in screen doesn't rotate. I wish it would cause I keep the Xoom docked a lot of time and in the folio case when at work so that's a little awkward. But, I really truly appreciate the fast update for honeycomb and getting it to work on the Xoom. REALLY looking forward to the next update for my Droid and Xoom.
Oh hey, look, I found my original account. MUCH BETTER. Now I can just be Packet instead.

Continuous client should work between Android and Trillian 5.0 on Windows already. It won't to OS X just yet, however; I'm working on that as we speak. (Must... finish... regression tests! Need... dinner! So... hungry I'm... speaking... like Shatner!)

That's not Xoom-specific (or even Honeycomb specific), but I can see how it would be way more obnoxious on a tablet, yeah. Might not hurt to toss a link to the ticket onto the Android section of our forums to get folks to vote up the ticket, too.
(Tickets in Bugzilla that have been voted up get higher priority attention when we put together a list of 'what should get addressed in the next build.' I.e., the squeakiest wheels tend to get grease the quickest.)

Indeed it does. One thing is that yahoo messenger doesn't stay logged in on both Windows and Xoom. Should I report this bug or is it something that's known?

Yea, it's not Honeycomb specific at all, but, it definitely is more annoying on the Xoom since I have it widescreen 99.9% of the time. It's a minor bug and if there are higher priority bugs by all means go for those. I just wanted to make sure it's in the queue for someone to look at. Who knows, maybe it's one of those "got nothing better to work on at the moment so let's grab a quick one out of the queue" kind of things. Thanks again for your attention to the Xoom and especially the new functionality of continuous client is absolutely AMAZING. Awesome job!

That's a limitation of Yahoo, not a Xoom bug, and there's not much we can do about it. The moment a new Y!IM client connects to a given Yahoo account, the Yahoo servers kick the old connection off. :/

That's a frustrating situation. I did notice that while I'm logged in on both the laptop and the Xoom, the Xoom says I'm disconnected yet is able to receive messages on Yahoo that I'm typing and receiving on the laptop. That's a neat trick. There's got to be a clever way to manage the presence though. Like moving the active connection to the device that's currently seen as the active trillian client?

Yep. We can keep the conversation in sync via our continuous client functionality, we just can't have both 'live' at once. Reconnect on the Xoom, and the same will be true in reverse.

Since the Yahoo connection thing is not Xoom-related, I'm going to suggest further talk on that might be better handled over on the Trillian forums to avoid derailing this thread.

Another vote for Google Voice. I'm missing this BIGTIME.
I found a work around (sort of) while we wait for Google Voice to be ironed out. I created a bookmark shortcut then used better cut to create my own GV icon. Now when I hit my GV icon, GV opens up (in the browser).
It occurs to me that this thread started with a missing element. There are 2 classes of "Not Working". One is that they install and either partially or completely fail to work. The other is the Market fails to find them at all for a tablet running Honeycomb. The following apps come as "not found" since I got my Xoom yesterday:
Adobe Reader
Google Shopper
Fandango Movies
Google Translate
Lookout Mobile Security
Dial Zero
PDANet
Pocket Agent
Yahoo Messenger
Yahoo Mail
Then I have a whole list of things that would install but had glitches. I'm still exploring. My mantra: "I love the bleeding edge"
Too bad it isn't working very well ;-)
I've use in on my DroidX, but it's not working on the Xoom.
I could have sworn I was able to use it on the Xoom. You don't need to press the camera button when scanning with it. just put them in the box and it finds them.

Right. I just now tried it on both Droid and Xoom. It doesn't want to focus and lock in. Maybe it's something wrong with my Xoom. Pics seem okay though.

This app wont show in the market on the xoom. Only on app brain but then it won't install.
I need it for work to video call with coworkers on ipad2.
Any ideas?
I found this same problem. A work around for now is Fring. But it only supports portrait right now. Hopefully they will make an update so that it can be landscape because of the position of our camera. But Fring does work well. I video chat with my wife on her Iphone 4.

Okay after some fiddling with settings this started working.
The Twit.tv app works, but I found my Xoom at 60% battery overnight on standby. It was barely responsive and battery manager said Twit was using all the cpu even doing nothing in background. It does have an exit button. So make sure you exit out or you can kiss 2 weeks standby goodbye. It did not kill the performance initially so it seems to be leaving running in background that destroys the battery and causes everything to lag horribly.
Diner Dash 2 and Gurk don't run properly. They "run" but their displays are so screwed up that they are basically unplayable, especially with Gurk. Also, why doesn't the "Share on Facebook" function work on the CNN app? You'd figure they'd have that up and running before releasing it..
