I'm not sure if it is an N7 thing or a Jelly bean thing, but when the power down menu appears you can long press "Power Off" and it will give you an option to reboot into safe mode. Just something to throw in the tool box.

Default Problems with Jelly Bean?

Does anyone who has gotten Jelly Bean notice any instability? During the last couple of days using ICS, I would have to reboot every 12-48 hours. Now that I have upgraded to JB, I have had MAJOR issues with stability. EG: when I open the notifications, the tablet will freeze, sometimes it will unfreeze, but most of the time it will reboot. Wi-Fi doesn't always reconnect (I always had problems with that, but now it's more common). Also, I don't think this is a problem, but I can't turn off animations, which adds to the stability issues.

Is there anyway to go back to ICS until there is another update?

Enhanced Notifications are very nice.

I do wish we also had offline voice-to-text, though.

Don't think facial recognition was available on tablets.

the stock images are not for ics or jb they are for hc. you will have to let your xoom go through all the updates till you get to jb. If you still want them here they are. MOTODEV > Products > Device Software go down to your device and download them.

Update was pushed to my Xoom yesterday. I don't see any differences yet other than a few cosmetic things. Very satisfied with the support my Xoom is getting.

Another cool feature of JB is Google Now.

While I can envision it integrating more seamlessly with a phone, it is still cool on the Xoom.

I have it on my phone and my tab, really makes a difference. To make it better, log into your Google account and enable search history. It will really get better then.

Looks like it's time to abandon my forever-honeycomb Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and upgrade to the Xoom considering today's $200 deal.

I gotta say ICS breathed new life into my Wifi Xoom. Then Jelly Bean came and after it sorted itself out I am again very impressed. This old tablet can still hang with the best of them. I had a little buyer's remorse when it first came out but now I definitely do not regret getting it. Now another soak test went out again today for another update. I only wish Motorola and Google supported my terrible terrible Bionic like this. All in all this is light years ahead of Honeycomb.

just did a quick check on tha webs for you: it would appear that you may be able to upgrade your device up to 4.1. (JRO03H) It's showing the release for US so im guessing you can grab it. Here's the link ---> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_detail/a_id/79587/p/7901,7906 look under software/drivers

Supposedly some performance enhancements and landscape mode for 7" tablets. I know, I know, that means nothing to you Xoom folks, but its a pretty big deal for us N7 folks. BTW, I only check in here because you are the only other tablet folks with timely JB updates that I can compare notes with.

Said something about new features but I haven't noticed anything. On the flip side, it still works/doesn't appear to have broken anything

Got 4.1.2 today.
I have got to say I'm impressed with Motorola,I mean I bought my Xoom like 2 years ago or a little better, and this thing has gotten every update possible. What other company does that?
Very happy Xoom'er here.

not here. as a matter of fact, once the reboot of the update installed, i had some apps auto update themselves.

if you are having issues, post to the class what error messages you are getting if any. post up the apps you are having issues with and any troubleshooting steps you have done...

No problem here and as mentioned by Marc my apps also updated automatically as part of the update.
