My guess is WiFi only users will get it first, followed by 4G then finally us schleps who never upgraded will get it last. At least thats what seemed to happen last time.
But you know what, I'm OK with that. I just got my ICS a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying that - since Jelly Bean is a .1 release I'm not expecting anything earth shatteringly different so I will just be happy to take it when it comes.
I, for one, an just happy that our 1 year old+ tablet is still seemingly in the minds of MotoGoogle and hasn't been left on the shelf to rot.
It's been nice this last year to see the Xoom constantly feature in Consumer Reports top tablets section, still fighting hard against the ISad...

Ah, this is great news... Xoom is a beast on ICS, can't wait to see what JB does for it.
THIS is why I went with a wifi model -- pure GED. Let the games begin!
I wonder how long before the 4G model gets the .1 upgrade, and though s,all, it has some great features that make it desirable. Anything that will make my device faster, or more stable is definitely desirable. I just wonder how long it will take...
The new google voice search in Jelly Bean looks sweet. There's a video on technobuffalo that compares it to siri and it comes out on top 4 out of 5 times. Can't wait until I get the update. Agreed that it is nice to be rewarded for early adopting, and I think it is nice to know that the Xoom hardware can still handle the updates along with the other newer tabs out there.

I certainly hope its nowhere near as bad as Siri!
In the UK it is just a gimmick and a joke at that.

I'm in two minds at the moment. On one hand, the speech recognition is astonishingly accurate and on the other, the "Google Now" thing is a little gimmicky I am afraid. For starters, unless you set your devices language setting in "Voice" to US English you won't get the "hotword detection" feature enabled in Settings and another issue is that at the moment you only get spoken replies to certain types of questions (I guess they must relate to the pre-configured "cards" that are available) and for the rest you get Google's typical results page with links to the relevant websites.
What miffs me enormously is that all Google experience devices are biased towards the US market. I have been waiting for ICS for the Motorola Xoom WiFi for ages and there is still no sign of it, so I have been running a custom ROM for 5 months now - not my prefered choice.

Absolutely. I'm still waiting (very impatiently) for ICS as I don't want to risk "bricking" my Xoom.

Jellybean coming to me (US) this month and not to other places? Thought everybody w/ a Xoom had ics available
Nope. Motorola promised us that Europe would be getting it in the second quarter of 2012 but has let us down and doesn't even seem interested in keeping us informed.

I only got it on my 3G Xoom a few weeks ago here in the US. I'd given up all hope of seeing it then 1 day it was there. Very pleasant surprise. I was on Honeycomb for a year or so so I can live with being on ICS I suppose for a while
Having said that, I do need to send it in for a HW repair. Since they will probably wipe it then I think I will take the opportunity to root it when it returns and put either Jelly Bean or JB based rom on it.

Yeah, 3g version gets the updates a lot later than wifi version

Not necessarily. There are several posts out in this Xoom forum that talk about how Motorola (or maybe it was Verizon) like to alternate who gets the next release. Since Wingray (WiFi) got ICS first, it's very possible that Stingray (4G) could get Jelly Bean first. I don't have the posts handy, but I can try to track them down.

I ran out of patience with Motorola and managed to "GEDify" my Xoom as described on another forum, so I finally have ICS. As far as I can tell, UK users not prepared to risk this modification will still be waiting for ICS even when the rest of us get Jelly Bean.

Yes, when the article that shows what devices are getting it it shows motorola zoom, doesn't say 4g version, or wifi version. But based on previous updates, I can conclude that Wi-Fi version will get it first
Evidently the soak test via the Motorola Feedback Network is underway. In the past the OTA for the masses have gone out within a week or two of the soak test, so it shouldn't be long now.

I actually just got my xoom last month... so when I turned it on, it said there was an update... so I just installed all the updates, and I ended up with ics. So I just went by what I've read (Wi-Fi version getting update first)

WiFi always gets updated first because the 3g/4g versions have to wait for the carrier to test and approve the update, which can take months.

My mom actually received 4.1.1 early this am on her xoom. My Xoom hasn't received it yet though. I'm not sad though because I was one of the first to get pics. Sweet. The notification bar is really nice. Lol she was so funny, she said the little android has a belly ache(when it was installing). I've cleared the google framework like 20 times and no luck.

idk... I'll tell ya when i can use mine. if your xoom is rooted, you can get a jb rom that's better than stock at xda ... there's not much development here for xoom at AF
Just got my jellybean update. Now its play time....
UPDATE: Make sure you reboot after the upgrade. It was pretty rough, lots of screen shudders and delays in screen transitions. Its buttery smooth after the reboot.

face unlock should be in the security settings as one of the options for unlocking the screen; I have ICS on my Asus Transformer and it supports face unlock as does my Evo 3D phone
I have a question about Jelly bean: What specifically makes it better than ICS? I already see better account management, but what else is there.
It makes the tablet a much better performer, everything just operates very smoothly. I've always loved my xoom, more so than my iPad but the iPad did run a lot smoother than the Xoom with this update they are pretty close to one another in terms of operating smoothness.
The lag and hiccups are no more, the Xoom has definitely come a long way from the early days and the fact Motorola has continued to give this device updates a year and a half latervs the competitions limited options I would most definitely purchase a new model if one were ever made, assuming it comes out lag free.
Just got the jelly bean update, first time I've been able to use the new search feature that google has, works great! "Note to self Olympic games start at 6" Google - setting alarm for 6 o clock. Don't like the new blue " go " key on the keyboard, course I'll get use to that. Like the smoothness of everything, especially the home screens in portrait. Notification tray is much nicer now too.
Things I've found that don't work the greatest - mostly has to do with the stock browser, when I'm in bookmarks the icons flicker most of the time. Links icons and the like don't seem to be responsive, I have to click them numerous times, on Google I have to click the search bar numerous times to get the keyboard to come up. Also it seems as if the volume across the board is lower. Hopefully they're working on a fix.
I got mine last night also. First thing I noticed was that it brought back the speed to my Xoom. It has been a little sluggish since the minor update they sent after ICS.
