Default XPRT Improvement Opportunities

I have had Palm and Optimus S, some old Win6.0, on Sprint, recently picked up XPRT and love it.

I would rate XPRT 4 out of 5. I am though not too happy with a few minor things, so I am gonna vent here, hope Moto can hear them.

1. Key buttons. This may be a personal thing, I hated hard ridged buttons. Why cannot they give us soft flat buttons like on Palm centro?

Hard buttons are slippery, especially when they are ridged.

I buy candybar because I want single hand operation. Ridged buttons suck when using with one hand only.

Flat buttons work also fine in two hand mode. The rubber flat surface provide "landing pad" for nails.

So from function point of view, flat buttons beat ridged buttons totally. Moto, do your HMI homework.

2. MiniUSB charger on left side. This is ******. Most people are left handed, when you drive and use the phone being charged, huh! You see my point?

Moto, just copy iPhone on HMI, saving your R&D cost and our headache.

3. Need more side buttons.
People who like physical keyboard in candybar, are those who like quick access on the phone. So give us a few more programmable side buttons, then you will beat iPhone totally!

Other than these, XPRT is great. Thanks for reading and please share your comments, maybe, just maybe we will see changes in next gen Moto XPRT.

This is stupid. Most people are left hand, you have two keyboards on the device if you dont like hard buttons, and side buttons are irrelevant when you can program shortcuts to the keys...

The Motorola XPRT is Sprint's first Android phone to focus on business consumers, particularly reformed BlackBerry usres. One quick look at the XPRT and you may do a doubletake - wait, what? Is that a BlackBerry Android Phone? No... it's no... Read More
