I am actually considering getting this phone.
I bought the HTC Evo Design 4G but since I've got the HTC Evo V 4G too, I don't see the point in having them both.
I was kind of getting addicted to Blackberry. Does this keyboard really work similar?
I've watched allot of videos on the Sprint version of the phone. It's been pushed toward those Blackberry users that want to jump on the android bandwagon. Just ordered it this morning on Boost. Should get here on Monday. Looking forward to it!

I've seen a lot of reviews but my problem is that the phone has been updated. I want to see how it handles 2.3.
Will do! Will be waiting for me when I get home from work! Had a couple old sanyo incognitos laying around at work using one right now as loaner. Miss the android os. Dislike we have to wait to get the new Boost androids for a few weeks in the store.

I had a BB9650 before migrating to the XPRT. The main reasons I changed were: (1) better GMail and Google Calendar integration with Android OS (the GMail app for BB is terrible); and (2) better apps-- the BB9650 browser was quite painful to use, Google Navigator is much better than BB Maps or the standard Google Maps.
I prefer the BB keyboard, but the XPRT keyboard is not bad. Certainly for me if the price you have to pay to have better apps is the inferior keyboard, then it is worth it.
I got one of these Monday near L.A. It's a Sprint phone with a Boost sleeve over the top and a Boost flash...looks like Sprint just opened their boxes to flash them and then wrapped a Boost sleeve over the top of the Sprint box. Not much bloatware, but there is a useful version (to me) of the Telenav GPS Navigation that has the voice commands enabled, unlike the Verizon version of the same free program (although the VZ subscription rate is less for the Premium/full version). There is also a half-screen Gallery slideshow widget preloaded that may be useful to me. Free memory for programs is just over 1GB, a welcome change from all the under-memory Android phones usually found on prepaid unless you spend $$$. Boost's Web site is selling them for $79 with the discount and either free 3-day or $5 overnight shipping. I switched over from a Virgin Mobile Optimus V and data speeds appear to be about the same. Very hard to go wrong at that price, IMO.
This phone has an 1820mah battery (BP7X) versus the 1300mah BP6X found in the VZ Droid Pro. The size differential is enough that the Body Glove case for the Droid Pro does not fit the XPRT. Unlike the Optimus V, the XPRT has an ARM 7 processor and can run Flash (it's also preloaded). For the money, a very capable phone, and I like having the real keyboard again (as a former Treo user)...many fewer typing mistakes.
I have a VZ Droid Pro for my g/f activated on Page Plus using the Verizon network which seems to have more consistent network speeds in L.A., but I did get a Speedtest report on the Boost XPRT of around 1500k download from one location which gives me hope this phone isn't being speed throttled, and I did hit the local Speedtest server here, rather than one in the Midwest I'd seen on some previous Boost tests which made me think they might be throttling via a proxy server. The Page Plus account offers 2GB of data for $55, Boost is 2.5GB before throttling at $55 with their shrinkpage plan going as low as $40 after 18 months. We shall see...but so far so good.

I now need to add the following...the 3G HotSpot functionality found on the Sprint Motorola XPRT has been removed from the Boost version. It also appears Sprint/Boost have made it difficult to enable this on the Boost phones...I have tried FoxFi (which works on the Droid Pro) and Quick Settings (which works on the Optimus V) without success on the Boost XPRT. It appears from first glance that the programs create a HotSpot, but the HotSpot won't issue IP addresses for devices to connect to. I've also tried to do a wired tether via PDANet (I've used this for years) which has also failed to this point. If easy HotSpot functionality is a need...beware of this limitation on the Boost XPRT. I'm hoping someone out there finds a workaround short of a root for this one.
I really like it so far, have pretty most of the apps I need, though I keep facebook off there just in principle, too much of a time waster. I love it, I've got Google Voice working so I can dial out from my personal or business number (favorite thing so far). The keyboard is nice, and the on screen is pretty decent too if a little small due to screen size if you roll to landscape view. Runs good video using Moboplayer, plays Angry Birds pretty well. Let me know if you want something tested out and I'll check it out for you :-)
I ended up getting a BB Style after buying the Xprt. In the first day, MotoBlur had crashed 3 times. It also needed to be restarted continuously because the phone would lag badly. The dialer would hang too....
I didn't take well to the MotoBlur UI after all. =[
I used to have an Atrix and that phone would reboot quite a bit. It seems I'm still not finding MotoBlur functional and smooth enough...

Hmm... I haven't had a chance to stress MotoBlur, but I haven't had any issues on Boost's XPRT so far, aside from a the camera flash going off at the wrong time taking a picture... and that was just once

I also cannot root this phone so far. Tried all SuperOneClick versions. Motofail. Zergrush. Gingerbreak. Univeral Androot. z4root. and psneuter. None have worked. any response plz :c
So guys just thought this was interesting. I just got the phone about 4 days ago, and I wanted to test the 3g speeds and make sure everything was fine. So when i tested it i got below .50 mbs when i usually get above .7-.8mbs(had an evo before this) so i tried to find a workaround this and wanted to share this with other XPRT owners.
-Go to dialer and type in ##3282#
-Click on MULTIMEDIA
-press the MENU button and enter SPC code(not msl)
**(got the code by telling sprint that i had mms problems and that phone needed to be reprogrammed, they will walk you through the process then give you the code *make sure to write it down!)
-once the code is entered, change:
~HTTP IP Address to 0.0.0.0
~HTTP Port to 0
~RTSP IP Address to 0.0.0.0
~RTSP Port to 0
~Buffer to 20(no matter what number it is make sure its 20, it really makes the difference)
I get about .8-1mb down and .4-.5 up now ever since the change and make sure after you input the info to reboot your phone and if you dont see any instant results give it a good 30 min.

It turns out that each time i resubmitted my info, they were charging my card, but then immediately refunding the money. I don't know what the problem was, but the order never went through successfully. The next day I got a call from the fraud prevention unit for my credit card. They wanted to know if I authorized ten different purchases to the same company...later we realized they refunded the charge immediately after each botched purchase.
To sum up. No, your order did not go through. You will likely see a charge AND refund on your statement. I ended up buying my Xprt through ebay. I Love It! however there is a problem that users are reporting. Texting completely freezes up. Look it up with the following message:

just happened to my phone...
Yes I spoke with there Event Bright their fraud/online order dept and they said it likely didn't go thru due to my billing address not being matched exactly, I did look it up and for my apt I put # on my order where on my card its just 205. I may try again when the money finally comes back to my card it still is in limbo on its way back, I have a prepaid Amex Serve card so not as quick as yours I guess.
If you are planning on buying this phone, Do it quickly. They are telling us once our current inventory is depleted, This phone will be discontinued. It's why they never sold any "Boost Mobile" branded ones.
They are just depleting the Sprint inventory. That's what I've been told via my superiors.

A known bug I thought I'd mention is that the keyboard won't light up in the dark. I've had more than a few customers complain about that.
Also the keyboard force closes when you haven't got much RAM free. Always back out of/close programs you aren't using.
Having had mine a month now, I can confirm that.
Sometimes the keyboard and haptic keys light up, and sometimes they don't, though I have found its not as big of a problem if you don't turn on "automatic brightness" in the backlight settings. I found that setting to keep the screen too dim anyway.
Just got my phone working fine, I am a happy camper. Can't wait until someone roots the boost version. Dammit I wish I knew what others knew so I can root myself.
The XPRT worked perfect for me in the first week or two. The speed is great, very responsive when it wants to be. The keyboard has a great feel but will double up letters and spaces sometimes when typing, which gets annoying. Afterward, I began to get crash errors for a Motorola service, which would close some apps. More recently, a bunch of my standard apps (phone, browser, text messaging, email) has been non-responsive and asked me to force-close the app. It is nice to not see the clutter of the carrier's add-ons as seen on most phones, but I believe the Motorola add-ons are killing the performance. I may just sell it and get the Kyocera Hydro - I really want an ice cream sandwich.
I bought my XPRT in July, and it's been an ok phone. My previous phone was an Evo, and it's not even worth trying to compare the two. For what it is, I'm happy with it. I'd really love to root it, though!
As far as the keyboard stuff, I have had problems twice. Both times, memory wasn't the issue, rebooting it wouldn't help. No matter what app I was in, once I got a few characters into what I was typing, it would FC the app, every time. The first time was shortly after I bought it, and my initial way around it was to use voice recognition to type stuff in, but that was way too annoying for a long term fix. I ended up messing with settings in 'Language & keyboard', and something I did (not sure, though) fixed it for a couple of months, before it happened again. This time, I couldn't figure out what I had done before, so I ended up installing SwiftKey 3, and that seems to have taken care of it. So, anyone else with the problem may want to consider installing a keyboard app. (Which seems so dumb when you have a physical keyboard!)

I bought my motorola xprt sometime in June when it was released and after about two months, i got the same issue with the keyboard locking up/being non responsive and showing the "force-close app" error message. i had to take it to the Boost mobile office and do the hard reset twice in 4 months since it happened twice. it happened again yesterday, so i was reading another forum and someone had figured out 2 other ways to fix it other than doing the factory reset!!!! i did both and the keyboard and all the related apps like text, browser...etc are working fine
Method 1: go to settings,language and keyboards,multi-touch keyboard,scroll down to next word prediction and uncheck
Method 2: go to settings,applications,manage apps,all,scroll to multitouch keyboard,clear
