Default new to xt300 with a q?

hi,i just entered the world of smartphones (kinda oldschool type of guy) and i was just wondering what is the H icon at the top of the phone? it dissapears when in wi-fi so i guess it have to be linked with connectivity, but found nothing on it yet

any help will be appreciated, im so new to this

the 'H' icon means 'home' that is you are in your phone carrier's home area and you are not roaming. please Next time write the subject of your question in the subject line. Do not write ambigous statements like 'I have a question". thanks.
