There are some particular songs that make me feel sad, songs like “Dreaming of you” by Selena & “It’s not over” by Chris Daughtry.

"By the time I get to Phoenix" always makes me want to cry. Dunno why.
Also, most of the songs in Les Miserables, but that might be because we saw it the day after my dad's funeral.

The sad one's do.

I guess it depends on what kind of sad. There's some songs that make my eyes get watery, but only cuz they're so nice.

This Womens Work by Maxwell, the MTV Unplugged live version.

I saw the clip of the 2 dancers on So U think U Can Dance dancing to that song, A Tribute To Breast Cancer.....very powerful, emotional moment. (It wasnt the MTV Unplugged version tho)

Yes, the Beatles were great at bringing the instruments they played into the feeling of the song.

The Long and Winding Road touches me. But Paul himself criticized the way it was orchestrated during production; he didn't like it, but went along with it. I'm glad he did.

Anything that comes on the radio or TV today makes me sad that music has completely died. Everybody is copying someone else now. Everything has been done before. Nobody is original anymore. The FM radio broke in my truck about 3 years ago, and I still have not fixed it. I have been much happier without it.

I get all teary eyed over a lot of anime songs. I swear they make them so tear jerking!

Wow. No mention of anything classical here. Sad day indeed. Try the Lacrymosa from Mozart's Requiem. Or Schindler's List, Main Theme. Or the opening to Verdi's Requiem. Or Bach's Chaconne in d minor for solo violin.

All of those evoke a serious feeling of sadness.

On a non-classical note, Barfly by Enter the Haggis is awesome (in a sad, depressing sort of way).

Many many songs that hit a nerve and maybe stir up emotions for various reasons, but one that really does hit a nerve is Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years", think it's such an emotional song.
