All,
Bought a Disney movie with the digital copy included. Downloaded the Windows Media file version. Tried to copy to Nexus 10. Won't let me. Tried to copy it to Dropbox then to Nexus 10 video file and tried MX Player. Didn't work (though my Nexus 10 may have crashed before it completely copied).

I see there are a bunch of video converters: Brorsoft, UFUsoft, and Pavtube.

Which is the best to convert the wmv file?

Now I know to save my money and just then get the digital movies off of Google Play. Hmmm, think it was intentional on Google's part?

MX Player app from the market should play a WMV file without having to convert it. Even the free version is a great app.

But the problem is getting the movie to the Nexus 10 in the first place. When I connected via the USB cable, I was not able to copy because it was not a supported format.

I then used Dropbox. When I tried playing it with MX Player, I got gobbleygook. I can try again because I think the Nexus rebooted when it was nearly copied to the video folder. Or can MX Player access files on Dropbox? I just want to see if it can play it.

This is a Disney movie so it definitely has DRM on it. I got the version with the Digital Copy so I could play it on the Nexus 10. Was not aware that Nexus 10 didn't play wmv files.

I googled this problem and there is also an earlier thread on this problem back in November. Basically it seems I need a video converter and I was hoping someone has a good suggestion. Most of what I had seen was postings that were basically ads for the various software.

I'm not too familiar with DRM files. It's my understanding that can't really do much with them except play them with certain players. I've never attempted to convert one.

The movie doesn't by chance have an ultraviolet code? The Flixster app let's you play all your ultraviolet movies from within the app.

Alas, Disney does not use Ultraviolet. My only choices were iTunes or Windows Media Files for the formats. Since I was reading the disk on a Windows machine, I went for the wmv format.

I know now for the future to just get the Disney digital versions off of Google Play.

Couldn't you just convert the physical copy to a playable format, hook you tablet to the computer via the usb cable and move the playable file? That's what I do.

I've never gotten Disney digital versions from Google Play... DvDCat works fine on my discs (Brave, Finding Nemo, whatever)

Thanks, I was looking for suggestions on a good converter. Good to know that it works on Disney movies. Did you use it on the DVD or do you have the digital copy wmv file?

I guess the WMV file should include some protection stuff which stop you from converting ... Here is a tutorial that explain how to re-encode DRMed WMV videos for iPad in detail. Hope it helps.

I used it on my physical copies. I have never tried to use it on digital copies.

Also: if you are in the habit of keeping a library in your device, the dev also makes MovieGallery (free and paid app) -- these can be found in the Play store.

You must remove the drm copy protection. google search "drm remover" then try with with handbrake or Appgeeker video converter, both are works well on video file conversion.
