Default Very smooth

Usually I order the moment they go live on the site. However this time I thought I would wait about ten minutes or so before ordering, to avoid the initial avalanche of people logging in.

Seems to have worked. Went to Google Play / Devices, found it listed as "in stock" placed my order, smooth as silk. No delays, no hiccups, fast and easy.

Order placed
Thank you. Your order has been placed, and you will receive an email shortly with the details of your purchase.

Loads of Google News links say that it sold out in an hour. Wifey's phone has officially died. Come on Google.

The 16's are already out of stock in the US store. Lasted less than 30 minutes!

I wonder how much longer the 8's will last?

[edit: 12:12pm eastern time; looks like both the 16's AND the 8's are gone now.]

My transaction looked like it crashed after I hit the purchase button, however it looks like the transaction is pending in Google wallet with an order number so it looks like I may have gotten it to go through, we'll see.

I got an error after I put in my address and credit card info....I have a pending transaction on my credit card.

I have no confirmation number. I am in a depressed, limbo like state.

Be patient, it's my understanding the system is just overloaded but not crashed completely. You may find your confirmation arriving in minutes to an hour or so. Not ideal, but not bad considering the rush of orders.

Like I said before, it took about 1-2 hours for me to get my confirmation e-mail. Same with a friend of mine. so it shouldn't be too different with everyone else.

Check Google wallet to see if the transaction is there.

I haven't received an email yet, and won't be sure the transaction when through until that I guess, but GW lists all of your purchases and order numbers there.

Just received my email while writing the post above. About 40 minutes from the time the transaction is listed in GW to getting the email.

I'm a sucker for new Nexus phones, what can I say...

I'm home now and have it switched on and downloaded my apps from Google Play.

It's already upgraded to 4.2 build JOP40C.

Further first impressions:

Everything is really smooth, scrolling etc
HSPA speed with O2 here is roughly 3600
The screen is nice, everything does seem so close to the surface
The screen is very bright I have it turned right down
The screen resolution looks great - no pixels on Google icons
The Phone feels really solid.
Still don't like the back it is too DISCO and a finger print magnet!
Chrome is much smoother than the GNex and N7
There is no O2 bloat

Pretty pleased.

What a mess! My order got kicked out 3 times, however Google still managed to charge me 3 times!

Well good news, was able to successfully cancel the other 2 orders, and now only the original 16Gig is showing in my wallet account pending...whewwww, what a day!

The US site opened at 11:30am eastern time; I had my order completed by 11:36am. I got the order confirmation on the screen (which I printed) but so far - 2 hours later - no email.

My credit card shows a "Pending" charge for the full amount.

Play Store's "My Orders" page is attached as well as Google Wallet (click the "Info" link in play store status column).

I am sure my order went through, but the waiting is worrisime...

wallet.google.com should direct you to:

A smart, virtual wallet for in-store and online shopping ? Google Wallet

If you're already logged into GMail the above will probably get you right to your transactions.

I would not be shocked to find out that the package requires signature at the door. So you might have to go through a cycle with whom ever (UPS/FEDEX) is delivering. Unless your driver will accept a note taped to the door that says "Please Deliver Package for X from Google - <signed>"

That's why I try to have all packages delivered to my job rather than my house. That and the fact that UPS is notorious for leaving products at the door without an answer.

I'm happy to be able to post in this thread. I was able to order a 16 GB N4 at around 2:30 PM EST. When the page went back to "Notify Me" earlier today I thought I'd be waiting days or weeks to order. I set up Firefox to continuously refresh the page and detect changes though and after multiple failed attempts at putting it in the cart I finally got one to go through. It is weird to me that availability is intermittent right now, I guess there's some element of luck involved at this point in getting one.

Perhaps the first round of people who realized that they had 12 orders pending went through and cancelled the 11 they didn't want. So the stock numbers have stabilized again. Google was probably conservative about tracking stock and had to wait for all the pending transactions to clear before they could be sure they had stock?

Hard to tell. Some get them right away. Mine took 30 minutes. Some still haven't got a confirmation even though the order shows in their Google play account.

Do you think it's shipping today and will arrive the 15th or it'll leave Google on the 15th?

I've been following peoples' experiences here and elsewhere and I don't think there is a consistent wait time for confirmation emails. It took forever for my order to finally go through, but I got my confirmation email within minutes of Google accepting the order.

I got an e-mail response from google support saying that it would ship out by the 15th. So by Thursday, you should receive an e-mail with shipping confirmation and tracking #. All orders are shipped out via 2-day shipping, so you should have your order by next Monday if everything goes as planned.

Anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, although there does seem to be some residual stock that is randomly showing up in the U.S.

I just sat there and refreshed the nexus 4 8gb page for the last 10 minutes and sure enough one appeared in stock. Order placed.

I downloaded an auto-refresh extension for chrome, which made the process a lot easier.

Man I was hoping it would ship today, since they said they would be shipping some today.

Also I called up my local t-mobile store to see if they'd have it and only one store in the area is carrying it (Laurel, MD) and they won't have it til tomorrow. I want to go play with one!

My order went through at 2:45 PM EST and I got a confirmation email from Google within 2 minutes. It's still listed as Pending though on Google Wallet. I'm without a phone right now so i'm just hoping to get it before the week's over.

Has anyone's order moved beyond the "Google Inc received your order" phase?

"Pending" makes sense since they said nothing would be charged until it ships.

Do you mean "changed"? Because my CC was definitely charged the full amount.

Ditto. My order says Pending, but the money has already been taken out of my account.

I'm sure it just means it's pending shipment. I haven't seen any reports from anyone saying their order is in completed status yet.

I called Google and they told me that the funds are still there, but that is a check to make sure you have sufficient funds for the purchase. No money will actually be taken out until it is shipped.
