This is crazy. I had mine ordered at 11:33 am EST and I don't have anything to show for it yet you ordered after me and you have a working tracking number.

NYC I was on a few other forums though and it seems there were other people from NY who hadn't gotten their tracking numbers. So maybe I'm just lucky.

We'll see what happens today...this is such a dropped ball on Googles part!

Well I haven't gotten a back ordered email as of yet and I'm in NYC. I ordered pretty early, if I do get the email about mine being backordered that is definitely proof that this is all random.

I got two of those holiday app emails SMH

Someone on another forum spoke just recently to a Google rep who stated if you didn't get the back order email already, you're safe.

Good luck!

I'm in the DC metro area (WV *sigh*) and I haven't gotten any notifications at all. Ordered mine at 11:43 est. This whole release is irritating the hell out of me.

It's as if the first few minutes of available buy time on Google's site were lost. Servers recovered momentarily and allowed a few more in and so forth until their stock was depleted.

I just talked to customer service rep, and basically got incredibly vague answers. They asked if I received a backorder email (which I haven't; hopefully I won't) and basically just told me it's completely random. Some will get tracking numbers, some will just have a device randomly show up at their door, some will be on backorder, etc.

Overall just a bad and annoying way of doing things. -_______-

I sure hope not. I and the rep can see my order but they can't tell me anything in regards to a shipping date other than it should ship today. The charge is still pending on my credit card.

Just thought I would check in with an update. I have not received either the dreaded "back-ordered" email or tracking number. Placed my order 8:08am PST.

8:08? Wow. I didn't think they went on sale that early. I had Page Monitor set to 30 second intervals and I didn't get a notifaction that the order page had changed until shortly after 8:30. I checked intermittently between 7:30 and 8:30 though and just saw "coming soon". Yours is the earliest I've heard of I believe. That being said, some are saying the time doesn't matter. We'll see. I ordered at 8:36 and all is quiet on the western front.

The rep I just spoke to said that if I hadn't received the back order email by now then I should be in the clear. He also said that it may ship before they send us the tracking info.

I saw it available as buy it now since 8:00 but got kicked out the order once... and took ages to go through the whole process.

Frankly I didn't know what time to expect, so I went into the office around 7am with my personal laptop. Set it up to automatically check in two minute intervals. 8:02 it notified me, by 8:08 I had completed the order.

Apparently my experience was far smoother than some. Less than 10 minutes after the order was completed I received the confirmation notice.

Right now I feel lucky to be someone who is very patient and relaxed.

If I was hyper like some of the guys here in our lab, it'd be driving me crazy, quite a few of us ordered this new Nexus...

Oh ok. I thought for sure I had gotten it within the first few minutes of availability. My order flew through in seconds with no errors at all. Just lucky I guess. Now as long as I don't get the dreaded backorder e-mail....(knocking on wood, fingers crossed, salt over shoulder, no whammies...)

About 6 hours after receiving the "backordered" email, I made an order enquiry using the web page that asks for the order number as a field.

An apparently automated response, judging by the time it took, stated "According to our records, your order should ship by the evening of November 15."

Still no tracking number though, so despite my successful, albeit difficult order placement, it's been tossed on the "to do" heap.

"Tossed" probably has a different meaning to you Brits?

I haven't received a delivery notice from UPS so I know mine won't be delivered tomorrow. Still says shipping will happen today but we are running out if today unless it is shipping from Hawaii.

I just yelled at the google rep and told him to cut the crap and tell me what he knows. He kept saying 'sorry sir. Your order should ship by Novermber 15th morning" and i was just like "ITS 5 PM, THATS NOT MORNING"

These google reps are getting on my nerves

I got the nexus 4 the second it came out. I havent recieved any order confirmaiton, tracking number, and luckily backorrder email.

This is all just pissing me off so much.

I needed this device by today (at latest tomorrow)

Any tips on what to do?

Contrary to what you may believe the Google reps most likely are just as clueless as you are as to what is going on. Google doesn't just announce everything to every low level employee. If you're going to yell at someone atleast make it a supervisor, not some poor guy who has calls coming in left and right with people complaining and screaming for information he doesn't have. As to what you can do you have 3 choices.

1. Wait it out

2. Cancel your order and pick the phone up elsewhere (T-Mobile store, online reseller, etc)

3. Get a different phone

Well said. It's not like they have the information and they are intentionally keeping it from you or that they are too lazy or incompetent to find the info. They can only use the resources Google has made available to them and those resources aren't telling them anything more than we can see for ourselves. They are clueless but I don't lay the blame at their feet.

this always seems to happen when waiting for something exciting, for a new a game or device, something always happens that ruins it. Shipment gets delayed a day or 2, or it never exceeds or meets my expectations. And this only happens when I hype myself to a point of almost bursting.

I've learned my lesson... and to spare myself any further pain, leaving the nexus 4 thread until i receive a tracking number. Gonna go back to the Gnex forums.

Have fun with your new toy guys! I hope it is everything we all imagined it

I just got my shipping confirmation. Only my N4 shipped not the 10 (I ordered that yesterday though).

EDIT: The shipping confirmation is actually for the N10 not the N4. Odd that it would ship in one day yet the N4 still hasn't shipped, 4 days later.

I'm thinking there is higher demand and more orders for the Nexus 4 so it's taking them longer to process them.

Mine left for delivery at 5:50am this morning and it's about 3pm here on the east coast and it hasn't been delivered yet. Hopefully they come right when I get home lol

I'm this "" close to going down the street and picking up a Lumia 920 (as a rental of course, until the 4 arrives and I take it back.)

Unless they are handled in different warehouses and by different employees that shouldn't matter.

Just thought I would chime in. I ordered 2 Nexus 4 phones at 850am PST on Tuesday. I got a notification and tracking number this morning (Friday) at about 930am. UPS says my phone will be here Monday by the end of the day.

lol really though I checked with UPS on a livechat and they haven't tried to deliver it yet today and it is definitely on the truck to be delivered today. I'm ok with this cause it's a pain if they show up while I'm at work and I have to track the package down after that. Sitting here waiting super eagerly!

They didn't require me to sign. Left in on the porch about an hour ago.

lol dude knocked on the door right after I posted. Love it so far, it feels so nice, though small since I'm coming from the Galaxy Note.

I guess given all the trouble others had I should just be happy that I got my order in at all but I must admit, it's a little grating to know that others are already playing with their devices while mine hasn't even shipped yet.

Another fruitless call to support and was told my order is "pending" and she doesn't know why it hasn't shipped yet but somebody will e-mail me by late Monday to provide an updated status. Awesome.

I ordered mine at about 11:43am EST on the 13th (even though it gave me an error it still went through) and I finally got an email this morning with a UPS tracking number. When I check it however, it reads “ A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated." Maybe it will be mobile tomorrow and arrive on Monday? I'm down here in FL.

Still no shipment notification here. If I get an email saying it shipped today it seems like it may be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. When UPS says "by the end of the day" what time does that generally mean? I will be leaving to go out of town at 3PM on Monday...

Using T-Mo. Haven't done quite a lot with it yet though. I got an 8GB model and I'm still deciding which apps I absolutely need and then I'll be installing a few not so necessary apps. If you (or anyone else) has questions I'll try to answer them as well as possible.

Do you ever accidentally hit the on screen navigation buttons? Coming from an iPhone, I have been wondering about this.
